Background...

Spent at least 5 yrs windsurfing blind with mismatched gear and confined to school holidays at Elanda. Started with good old garage sale gear ie 1980s long board and baggy dacron sails...and don't forget the one piece mast!!! Progressed to Bic Techno 283 (152 litres) which helped , and gathered a couple of Ezzy sails. Sold an AHD106 by a Caloundra based shop around 08 and continued to self analyse via online resources like Beginner to Winner by Jem Hall and Jibing in Maui with Alan Cadiz.

Eventually moved to Cootharaba area and hooked up with local sailors and also dramatically increased time on water. Finally started to increase understanding and skills with some welcome input. At the same time I started to invest in better gear although mainly 2nd hand. Now have a range of choices which paradoxically leads to greater gear choice paralysis!!

I've heavily spent up on tape to patch up my high use sails and extend their life , so am known as "The Black Spot" , occasionally differentiated by the odd smiley face...

Have enjoyed lots of great ( and frustrating) sails with Pete, Russell, Greg , Anne , Matt ,Chris , Paul , Ken , Ken ,Sam ,Jeffro (RIP) , Kingaray ,Phil ( and the notorious Hall-ey) , Robbo , Andrew , James n Harry plus the occasional blowins from other areas Like Phil , Ian etc. The great thing is that there is almost always someone to have a sail and a chat with on any given day.
