Quick before work sessi. 6.6 Koncept, Gladiator 95, 33 f1 falcon.

Some good gusts amongst the wicked westerley chop on the Swan. Claude and Slowey were going at it when I left.

Saw a bloke on an Ezzy appear from nowhere - it was Nebbs!

2nd time I've gone for a dawn partol this year. 2nd time my car wouldnt start. F(*&KIT. After it cranked over a few timez and the battery went flat, I went and got the charger. Still no Joy. Check the obvious. Fuel OK. Spark OK. Flooded maybe? 30 minutes later. No joy. Damn. I was all ready to go at 5.50am! Not sure what the prob is. Maybe fuel pump, blocked filter (doubt it), or the gas computer has died and is refusing to switch the fuel injectors on.

Anyway, I borrowed a car and squeezed my stuff in. By the time I got there PD was done, Claude had his best times for the day, and the wind looked really nice in the gusts, with a moderately choppy westerly direction. So I rigged up and got into the wetsuit. And the wind swung WSW. Bugger. Thats the worst direction on the river for chop. Its Aweful. Especially when the tide is right up (which it was). The wind shift was timed to perfection.

I went the 6.6m and the SP60, and did a couple of 36s. It was pretty hairy in the chop so I changed to the SP47. That was a lot easier to keep on the water and I got my fastest run before the wind started to drop. And stayed dropped until I packed up. &%$!!! The joy of winter.

Just making a coffee while realspeed processes my track. Only been 6 minutes so far... 7... 9... 12... 15.. 22!!!

I give up. GPSResults: 3 seconds. Done. So these speeds are doppler from GPS Results. I'll come back and edit if realspeed ever finishes thinking about how awesome my tracks are!

EDIT; 33 minutes later I have numbers! Unfortunately a bit lower :( Claude should be able to prop things up with some garmin 2 seconds though :)

Hey Slowboat, ready at 5:50?  Luxury!  I left home at 4:59 this morning...

25, where were you?  I didn't see another sail the whole time I was out.  Were you at Point Walter or somewhere else?

from your angle it would of been difficult to see the guys out, but they where there.

looking at your tracks you where sailing over to the walter area.

awww cmon Chris, that *is* flat water! WNW at Melville (as pictured) is wicked (challenging) for doing NMs and getting good peaks. When it goes WSW then speed is finished for the day.
