VP but came too late for the high tide, so I did not get the flat water over the mudflats to practise my gybes properly. Axxis 90L, Daytona 5.4 and select fin 29. Wind was blowing 13 to 23, when I arrived, with rain in the squalls, but died down to 8 to 13 when I walked out. Some 20+ gusts got me going though every now and then and I even made some gybes, but not ideal condition to practise your gybes in. May be tomorrow.

Plenty of wind at "The Grand" but a lot of short, sharp chop with the tide running out all afternoon. To make it worse, boats continually ferrying people out the the rock concert at the spit. Hard to find a good run flat without slowing down through the chop. Some great gusts though board launched at 36 knots and sore in the ribs after a good stack.Cry

Naish Redline 5.6, Exocet Warp Speed, C3 Venom 26.

I rigged for the gusts and squalls and spent a fair bit of time bobbing in the water. Should have rigged bigger sail.

Squally and wet, 8 knots - 26 knots (probably close to 30 out the back at Manly). VERY CHOPPY with outgoing tide tide running against wind swell.

Well, I tried - but may have bettr to sit at home and watch the aussies be humbled in the cricket?

Started out underpowered with 13 to 18knot SE.  First run happily plodding along at around 25knots and hit something about 3 km off shore.  Came a cropper and turned around to see this puffer fish blown up like a volley ball - it let itself down and swam away although I think I saw it floating on a later run playing dead.  Select Viper one, Puffer fish nil

Was about to pack it in after 45 min but then SE really kicked in and managed to get some really long runs in.  Broke my 1 hour PB which was a nice surprise.

s-type 93, VMG 6.7, select viper 30cm

Thanks Vando,

I'm getting close to my GPSSS PB's now, so hopefully I can break them.  Maybe Burrum this year will be much kinder to me (that's as long as Gestalt can arrange some wind)
