Weird day  - gusty but there was nothing behind the gusts. Started on the Sonic 85 but later changed to the JP114 to try to work through the lulls.

Started on the 5.5 which was good on the gusts. The problem was to get one that lasted for more than 10 secs after I got in the straps. Everybody was packing up and I rigged the 7.7. The tide was amazingly low so the bay was a billiard. The wind swang a tad to the west and was enough to keep me on the plane. Very smooth sunset sailing for about an hour until a big clump of weed roped the fin.......crashhhh!!!. No injuries and no broken gear, despite seeing Brett earlier in the afernoon. Another half an hour of smooth sailing and I went home. Sweet.

Hypersonic 105, overdrive 5.5 at first, Code red 7.7 later. Select weed 30

Nice work Marcus - The 7.7 wasn't too big?

Nope. Gusts desapeared and the breeze became light but steady. The 7.7 on the Hyper was just right. I got mi max speed on the 5.5 but that was it. I did a better average on the 7.7. You should have stayed, although having struggled with the wind for 73 km as you did I understand why you left. My late ride was much smoother than yours
