5973 days ago Had seen that there was a chance of a late afternoon SW change. Then at 5pm I got a call from Shelby: "I'm at Leangatha and there is a strong change belting though here!" Hmmm, dead calm at Sandy but I have seen this before. I jumpin the jalopy and trundle down to the inlet and pull up beside some guys just starting to pack up their gear.
"You just missed it!" they said.
I just smiled and said 'I think I am just in time' as I started to rig my 4.9m Koncept.
They had a very puzzled look as their eyes swung back and forth from the glassy smooth water to my rigging efforts.
"Ah, OK, we might hang around a bit then..........."
20mins later, right on cue the water ruffled with a 15-20kt SW change and they flew into a frenzy of rigging action!!!
18-22 was about as strong as it got but I had a nice blast on the CA50/TM Speed26/Koncept 4.9m. Went forsome Alphas but just not quite enough wind.
A very dark cloud approched with massive lightening bolts so I headed for the shore thinking it migh bring an increase in wind. Not to be though. Just a belting rain shower and the wind swung SSE after it. Had a run right up the inlet and back with Tom and then gave it away as the wind died out. A it of fun though........
