McEwens Beach, QLD, AU

A fun downwinder from McEwans to Illawong Bch, still a bit lumpy but not as choppy as usual, should have gone to smaller gear but the wind didn't look too good when rigging. Still a good day out, Squiddy came too with better gear for the day

Hawk 123, freespeed 32, O2 6.6.

The wind was not too flash, only about 13 14 knots so it was on big gear. Don't think any records where broken but you have to take what you can get these days as far as sailing goes Undecided

Sailpilot and I did a downwinder today from McEwens Beach to Illawong. The wind looked a bit iffy before we rigged up but I'm glad I went with the 6.6. If my mast hadn't broken a couple of days ago I would have been on the 7.6 an it would have been out of control once we got out in the bay. Was a lot of fun, found some nice waves along the way and saw a turtle. I was on a 6.6 Koyote and XTC 103 with G Sport 30cm SR6-b.

Looking at my track on the Google Earth overlay from ka72 it looks like it's missing the last 30mins at least of my session Yell

Yep, you'd have about the same distance as me today. Maybe you pushed the wrong button while on the beach??

Here's my track from today Jarrod, I think your runs were even deeper than mine. Congrats on the PBs, looks like we'll have to try again one day.

THeyre not better, just different. My O2 6.6 has more guts than the Koyoye 7.4 so they actually have the same wind rangeYell. Hope to get my quiver sorted out a bit better latter this year, I've almost worn out the O2. What I actually meant was squiddy had a better size board for the day, although the numbers are pretty even. Looks like I'll have to do a trip up there soon and drag yr rain soaked arse out to Green. Smile

Forcast for Green was crap but it now looks like it was ok Yell Also looks like Cam didn't bother either, Wednesday looks good but working again.

Jarrod's going to send his file tomorrow, if I can sort we'll go up a level or two Smile
