Wind was building throughout the morning At the Prom, gusting 50-60knots. On the drive down a rain front came thru and killed it by the time I got there with the tide going out.   Rigged Koncept 5.8, KA SL28 fin, SP53 thinking in might come in again but in the end it just gusted between 15-25 knotsYell.

Basically...it was way too flat and not very exciting, the runs were too long, and the wind was too light, only 3 of us on the water, there wasn't much to think about when you gybed, and you didn't have much else to do but sit back in the harness and take in the SERENITY!!!!!  it was bloody terribleWink

Crabbing at start of run= SpeedSealedCool Undecided.   When the conditions are like this they are perfect for tuning, as the water state is fairly constant and changes to your setup and stance are reflected in your speeds.   As Slowie mentioned ~it is still another ball game to sail fast at this place.

Great Photos of ParadiseSmile

Choco the board in the picture is most likely running near 2 degrees of AOA, the camera distorts the view.

For a Big Guy like Scotty, 2 degrees of AOA will be giving him plenty of lift from the KA 28cm to run those speeds, with a bigger Sail he most likely could of taken the KA SL 28cm several knots faster before topping out.

Think i've done 36 knots with the KA SL 28cm/  6.4m Koncept/ custom speed 50cm in about 20 knots of wind at Lynfield Speed Run, (perfect flat water) for my light weight the AOA would off been near zero & plenty of drag starting to set in. Still I was able to hold the KA 28 Fin down & wasn't railing up. Who's knows what would off happen if I wore a weight jacket?

The KA fins are well designed, would be great if AMAC would take then to the next level (Prepeg Carbon Molded Hand Layup), but then prices would be near formula fins.

Nah, only refreshing when the cold water fills your wetsuit & then the wind feels like its blowing straight thru your 5mm wet suitCry
