Forecast had been promising but there was a distinct aroma of skunk in the air, woke up this morning all ready to take a day in lieu for working last weekend unortunately we had 3-4 knots, resigned myself to actually having to go to work today, when I get a text from Hardz saying he was heading down.

Got down there it was looking a bit light, just about to start rigging the fear factory when we see whitecaps coming avcross the estuary, quickly rig the 7.0 and the 65, quickly chuck the thick rubber on close up the only to see that the squall had passed over. Oh well gives me the oportunity to rig the Fear factory.

Got it rigged when the whitecaps came back, hopped onto the smaller kit and had a ball, was a bit up and down as well as round and round  but overall good fun.

Only had one chug back which I was pretty damn happy about, nice to have  some power in the sail.

Was getting a wee bit nipply towards the end

Max Temp of 16.8º @ 12.56AM

Min Temp of  12.3º @ 1.58PM

Time for a nice hot shower

The plan was to do distance with evets, but the wind had other ideas. Used big board, with the new timber fin and the Avalon 6.0

Got one nice gust and got big board up to 30kts, quite pleased with that, the thommen probably would have been faster, in the gust but wouldn't have planed as early in the lulls.

Bugs came down with his new 7.3, and I had one very brief run with evets to test it, by the time I'd got the boom and harness lines right, the gust had finished. When's the next wind?????? I want to get some more time on these sails.

~2pm thats when the only puff came through at woodies when I was there. It only lasted a few minutes and the strongest gust was maybe 20kts for a few seconds. It was furking cold! Then I swam for about 20 minutes when it dropped to 5kts. At least the water was warm.

good to see you guys got some wind down there.

Bit more wind up my way Slowy, bouncier than woodies though!

I was considering doing the pilgrimage to Mandurghistan but Lao Shi talked me out of it.  Probably a good thing, didn't sound like it really came in down there.

Good to see the man bra boys having a reasonably long session Laughing

even the kites were dropping out of the sky at woodies... the fronts seemed to be going around it. The wind was SSE by the time I got on the water and it only swung to SW for about 5 minutes during that big rain band ~2pm that made the temp drop about 5deg in < 1 minute. Probably should have got there earlier. Next time :) There should be some proper wind coming through any year now...
