Yarralumla, ACT, AU

CA SL45+S-type and 3.6m XS-1

gusts of 16-18 knots with 1 or 2 getting above 20.

Went out on my CA but was not enough wind for the 48l,so came in and changed to my 70l S-type which I haven't used since last summer and had a great session with Sam and Dad.Wasn't working on speed because of the lack of wind but did a lot of jumps.fun, fun, fun

Gusts up to 20 knots but mainly just dogging around waiting for a puff.

Tried the recommened fin size for the board,a 37.I am abit affraid of using such big fins,(18 is now normal for me)brings back memories of the windward rail rising up,then on the tail and then board tripping up before you get a chance of getting out of the harness ,ouch and cold.

But it gave the board a great attitude and rode nice and flat. The big fin killed the early planning with that much drag so I kept on moving the mastbase further and further back, expecting the windward rail to lift, but it didn't,it just got better at early planning and far better when going off the wind .I feel I am really getting this board and myself dialed in.Also feel more comfy with 4 straps and a sail bigger than 5.8. Tacking with a cammed sail is a pain in the butt though.

There wasn't much wind for speed ,so I hung out between Spinnaker island and the Uni hoping the wind would funnel through there and get compressed and hope to try and maybe get an alpha PB.Did a few nice, fast laydown gybes while still in the gust to still have power on the exit.

All in all,not great wind but learnt heaps about my setup ,sailed with Alex, got some pretty big air and had a good time

hawke 120, 7.2 rs racing and modified 39cm hawke fin.

gusty, gusty, gusty. It was lots of fun but it is hard to pull off the wind for a speed run when you i was allready to far down wind.

I liked the jumps alex, they were impresive for flat water.

Hi Akim , PB!   Your heels would have been dragging in the water the other day with the 30.  Barney used it on that old yellow strapper, about 52 wide. How many CAs do you and Alex have between you now?  For how long do you think you'll be the highest jumper in the household?
