Late afternoon session and not very nice to be honest. Gusty and choppy some good peak speeds but much slower 10 secs.

yesterdays session on the Ray, wind forecast to swing SSW and ease so Pete C and myself rigged 6.2, got out and found 5.5 would of been maxed, and the wind if anything increased.
Conditions fairly square on the west course, quite good for doing starboard tack NM though, great fun, got a PB out of it.
Pete gave up bit early, he could'nt face the long walk and rig smaller.

Well done mate as you know me and Reg got down for dawn patrol but to windy for me and high tide so decided to go out later, but as the gods would have it got stitched up @ work and me finishing @ three was out the window absolutely gutted.

Hope fully Reg's GT has recorded all the data to card and that Ian got some good times so not is all lost?

Laters......

Not easy in those conditions Pete..well done on the outstanding speeds.  Looked at it at about 09:30 and my self preservation instinct took over...way too much por moi!

Rigged wrong sail (6.3 simmer race) today at the Ray - Hard work -well overpowered! but no time ( or strength) for the long walk back to change down . as I had to get my grandsons from school . Sorry to leave you on your own Ian -wish I'd listened  to you an rigged 5.8 . I rigged big as im desperate to get the '40' knot run.   maybe next time ??

Ian you must be a fit bugger ! i was knackerd after yesty. did you sleep in your van?. good mile mate.  poor East team work  sorry to get wrong day Mike!

Hi Pete, I did'nt intend to stay over in Southend but the Dartford crossing was closed due to high winds lol (thats a first).

I just had a few beers and kipped in the van, (in a dry board bag lol), your 40 KN run will come Pete, just keep rigging big.

What you need Pete is a nice little used simmer 5.7 to go with the 6.3 and 7 for your first 40k run, used 4 times at the most. Thats a real shame to walk out to the ray with the wrong size sail, still better to be  abit over than under I suppose.

Haha just read that you slept in a board bag Ian, a true legend of the sport alright Wink Some fantastic numbers there to make it worth the while too!
