Golden Beach Caloundra Queensland. Got to the spot, just about 5.30pm after driving down from Burrum Heads , couple lads there, packing up. Too light the said Cry

I waited 15 minutes, the rigged the 7.4 loft and was rewarded with a couple of “just” planning runs along the boat channel before the Easterly petered out again.  It was getting dark anyway. Smile

Not sure about the 125 Tabou board in light breeze. Any pressure forward of the mast, tends to sink the nose real quick, so trying to spin the board with foot pressure usually results in the nose going under when taking off from the shore or the sand bank, and it takes a bit to pop it back out. Maybe a 135 for light wind would be better. Or I take the Formula for such daysLaughing

The Choco 40 fin is tops.  So Ben and the GPSTC, thanks very muchCool

Quick loosener at peli pt. Pretty underpowered as the wind backed off somewhat. Nice to have a good chat to Danijel and to catch up with Toby.

Sonic 85, Ram 6.3, Goldwing 32

A nice session at Pelicans on my "brick" and 6.8m. Feeling more and more at home on this board, and understanding the straps geometry.

If the wind was a bit stronger it would have been more PBs.

Caught up with Toby, Snake and Mark. Snake was smoking as usual...

Toby was commenting on my comedy routine (I actually attempted a gybe Embarassed)

Going to rent out Starboard Code 122 from Justin tomorrow, pair it up to 6.5m and see if I can sail it.

Need to figure out the next size down. I already know a race board is too much (courtesy of Pointman).

I spoke to Annika today Windxtasy and she is happy for you to try her gear next time you meet. She had some good insight in to both sail size and type.

Maybe this could be a new speed competition. Vintage speed sailing. Clear out your shed!

More like an expo. I'm sure there would be  a few collecting dust around.  Smile

107L? That would be a wave board for me.

Anita also offered me her old board. Very nice of yu both, but probably wouldn't improve much.

I'll probably wait for a sub-$900 recent board. I.E. like the Carve you pointed out, and I was reluctant to buy.

Currently on the wish list :

JP-XCite Ride 120L, Tabou Rocket 125, Starboard Carve 124

I'll see Justin today and road-test Code 122.  See how it feels.

My museum piece sail would fit right in!

Actually that could be a fun social event for WWA Lao - bring and sail your oldest gear. Would be a good opportunity for those who don't have the latest and greatest to join in. Score bonus points for age of board, sail, boom, mast...

I can thoroughly recommend board testing Toby. I lost count of how many I tried last season. It really helps you work out what suits your style of sailing. Sonic 85 was the winner and I love it. You're welcome to give it a try.
