Bonbeach, VIC, AU, pretty good northerly session at Bonno with most of the team. Picked a sail size bigger than most of the crew for the Rocket. Was comfortable except in some of the heavier gusts but it carried me through the lulls pretty well. Even got some reasonable gybes in (although Bondy lost interest in his 'Flipper' Role and missed in on camera Undecided

Nice going guys! Good distance, speeds, etc.

Good fun today,  though frustrating at other times for me. Still struggling with staying upwind in those conditions. Almost felt as though I needed a bigger fin (was using a 26cm) but anything bigger would have been a handfull in those gusts out the back.

I found the 28 ok today Evan with a 5.0 so maybe try a bigger fin with the 5.5 next time.

But I know what you are talking about if the wind was concistantly strong I would of been looking for a smaller fin or board too.

I never have anything worthwhile to post when sailing at Bonno so decided before going out I wouldn't wear it. Less of a distraction and the need to sail fast I figured.

Agree, I wanted to come in and change up to my 28cm. I should have but I think I would have been struggling in those stronger gusts further out. I agree though, I think for the 5.5m the 28cm is the way to go under normal sailing conditions (do they exist?).

My post will come.

After sailing only part of the sesson, I was too flat out; getting gear, taking gear to PYC, setting up gear, talking to people to build a bigger season next year, packed up gear, took gear back, met with Mike and then Paul, went home, spent time with family so I can do it all and more again next weekend and also Wednesday night.

If I had time to sit in front a PC at home I would post quicker, but if I got home and jumped on the PC after all this running around for windsurfing, I would be shot and there would be no events and everything else that is being planned would stop. This would tick off alot of windsurfers.
