Kermit, 7.5 Koncept, Talon 44/CA53, 6.4 Koncept, Delta 25 and Talon 30, Green Island.

Went to Arlington early but didn't have the wind so finally went back to the island and got a couple of runs before the tide was to low. Had some really rough water before the tide dropped enough for the northern run so put the Talon in the speed board. First time in ages I have been powered up on the 6.4 but didn't have enough flat water to make the most of it. This afternoon's wind in the morning would have been nice.

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Met Mal and Ann as well as Jason at Holloways this afternoon...used 5.4 sail for the first time for quite a while.

Water was very rough/choppy and the wind a little patchy .... started dropping off so we got out....then it came back,

but it was to late as we had decided not to risk it.  great sail with the boys.

great last day out on the reef. went to arlington first thing hoping for some nice nm runs but it was too light too easterly and too rough to go faster then last year. came back around 12 to hit the eastern run with bob. think i went the fastest there although it was'nt as windy as this arvo. had high hopes as the wind was around 24knots. the water was flatter this morn but the wind had turned a bit more south wich is a better direction for green island and with a low tide it  had potential but just didnt get flat enough to break on through to the other side. was pretty powered up so went for a few alphas. thought i may have a pb but not quite. was prob a forty there also if it was flatter. munted my fin also on the eastern run as the tide receeded. 23cm delta is now a 22. thats about the depth of water as i was trying to get into the flattest part.

over 800km this month. had more cuts then a butcher from the reef and had a bloody great time sailing with every one.

Green Island, KA72

I really enjoyed myself today, not as fast as I was hoping for and got hammered in the end, but hey mostly sunny skies in Paradise Smile

I started the day not quite in my grove, disapointed my mate Benny and didn't go to Arlington, just sailed around the eastern side keeping an eye on Billy. When the Arlington boys came back we sailed the eastern run, I found it not ideal for speed but enjoyed blasting back and forward, got my 2sec there. As the tide dropped and while the boys were flying over the eastern reef I erred on the side of caution sailed and in front of the rigging area getting my next best 3 peaks, the best over 35 so happy with that. After tucker we sailed the Northern run but the wind had picked up mobs and I just struggled, dropping every gybe at the deep end and wearing myself out water starting and getting hammered so gave it away.

Just filled my fat guts with home made lasagne and wine, so as Herbo says, life's good Wink Sorry to see the back end of Troppo as he's out of here tomorrow.

Great start to August guys.  Excellent numbers all around and love those Arlington tracks too (I don't know if anyone who hasn't sailed it really understands!).  Gaz, can you see GI from the eastern side or is it starting to disappear around there?

Bob, mate excellent speed for the 7.8 too.

Jason, Congrats on the PB's (and yes it is difficult to get 30+ in that sh1t)  Just remember the faster you go, those PB's get much more painful to come by Wink

PS -  I'm wondering if I'll ever get any coloured balls again especially if Gaz never goes back to work Wink

Snags - Can't see anything of Green from the other side but you can still see the hills of Fitzroy Island and the coast. The far end of the tracks were 19k's from Green. Don't worry I will be going back to work soon. Only have another couple of weeks before I will go back to Darwin.

Firie had a 6.8 not 7.8.
