Majestic Point, WA, iS121+7.8+44

Quick sail in gusty conditions with Somepunk. Hard to believe this is winter!

Mineral (4665km):

Pt Majestic. 7.4 O2 Loft Tabou 125.

Gusty and fitness generating until I got a little too keen and run into the rocky garden area. New it had some ugly bits, but was thinking I was still OK for depth and clearing the rock garden. Not so,Cry and my JP46 free-ride is on the bottom some place.Money mouth

Did the walk of shame with the busted kit, then came back and spent about an hour trying to find it. In the end, water was too dirty and choppy. Packed up and drove down to Melville, but the place was awash with cars and gear. Spotted Mark heading out as I cruised on past. Ran in to Patrick at Majestic when I got there.

At least my fin wasn’t as expensive as the 30-35 foot yacht that was adrift along Majestic. Called water police to see if they could get it before it ran aground. Left before they got to the site. Looked expensive bit of gear flaoting along out there.

Think I might take some of my gear, like harness, buoyancy vest and such back to Reg, bloody things shrunk sitting in my trailer over winterSurprised  either that, or some smart arse swapped them all over on me when I wasn’t looking Wink

Shit, I am unfit as all buggeryLaughing

Melville Beach, WA, AU

F2 SX Medium,7.5 mtr then 6.7mtr O.D. 40cm Talon and 36cm GW

Rigged the 7.5 and after two runs realised I was way overpowered so changed down to the 6.7.which proved a better choice

The chop was nasty and on some of the runs the butt cheeks were well and truly clenched and did not even attempt to gybe, good to see Lao,Grumpy,Obelix,Troutty and Fattmatt.

Also had a chin wag to Greg who unfortunately was on child minding duties

Great day for sailing. It was even sunny this morning. I had a 31.8 2 sec on the GPS but I guess the doppler killed that. Still can't complain, I had a ball and always nice to get a PB.

Suspect the Alpha PB was earlier in the day on my 7.3 and 101 Isonic.

I really have to work on my dismounts. Had 2 big crashes in front of the carpark trying to slow down. Damn thing just won't slow down when I'm overpowered. Still have water coming out of my nose 2 hours laterSurprised

Melville Beach, 115L /6m

A fun session at Melville.

Special thanks to Greg who let me try his S-Type.
Many familiar faces. All happy and smiling. Heaps of sails on the water. Who said this sport was dying?

Mission today was a decent naughty. Went out the back of Melville and the chop was horrible. Worked up past Majestics and got one hair raising ride down to the freeway.Laughing

track

Rest of the afternoon blasting around dodging traffic.

Well done, Grumpy on the PBs.Cool

Good to see Mineral back out!Surprised

Western end near the last house on the point. I was heading around the corner and sailing on down to Melville. Cut it a bit too close. Cry

I knew they were there, just misjudged the spot. Will take a look when the winds off, and suns out durring week. Reckon I can find the spot with some luck.
