Finally some decent wind! Started out with a 7.5 but it was way too scary, especially after so many weeks of light wind sailing - couldn't bear to sheet in through the gusts... Down to the 6.2 and happy days. Towards the end it was more off than on, but no complaints. Cracked 30 only once and only by a whisker. It was in a run in to the beach strangely enough. Had a few drag races with Craig and Michael T which was fun. Good to meet you Artur - go the Demerits! | ||||||||||||||||||

A good day of windsurfing. The breeze was gusty but in the gusts it was very strong. A bit of a gear slut today, trying different gear to what I normally use. Michael kindly loaned me his S Type. It was the right board for me as its about halfway in size between my big and small board. I found the S Type to be excellent in the gusts, very controllable. I then demoed the Hot Sails Speed Demon on the iSonic. Wow! I really love that sail. It felt amazing. It was so stable and was easy to lock the sail onto the board and then just sail effortlessly along. I think with a sail like that I could easily sail 100kms in a day. I'm not sure what to do about my Loft 02s though. Perhaps I'm rigging them wrong as they don't feel stable or locked down in comparison. Maybe its the mast as I'm using an Neil Pryde X6 mast. Perhaps a Loft RDM would improve the sails. However right now I'd really like to buy some Speed Demons.
