Nice but short day, forecast was 100% - no wind after 12.00. Another bad thing happened: Fish Pub overbooked! We had to go to Foster, did the job.

Runs at the inlet seens to be shopter and shorter with a not of obstacles: fishing dudes, kiters, boats, dunes, seaweed, you name it!

Manta, 7 RAM, 36 Tecktonic.

Worthwhile trip to the pit today with Jak, Evan, Alex and George, plenty of guys out, just as well we had an early start as the wind didnt last long.

Not sure if I miss timed the gusts or didnt sail broad enough down the strip but I seemed a bit slow compared to the other guys, ah well good excuse to buy a new Venom for that setup Smile

Sandy Point, Vic, AU, great early sail at the PiT with Jman, Alex, Evan and later George. As Jerry forecasted big gear weather, so the barge and the V8 was the choice for about 3 hrs until the wind ran out of puff. Great feeling having several planning gybes in a row at the end of the strip. Not sure if they counted for the Alpha though, have to see in Realspeed.Had a 29.09 on the GPS, same like Alex, not sure what happened, looks the Russian has beaten me. Couldn't stay for the pub, had to get home for large Easter family dinner.

With much more time on the small gear of late the big stuff felt well...big. But good day to be on the water, nice weather, etc. Fun short session with Jerry, Jak, Alex and George as well as quite a few other sailors. Good meal at the pub afterwards.

Nice speeds overall guys. Struggled today, just one of those days I guess. Found it very gusty. Can't complain about the meal though. Will post data shortly.

There was nothing on the bay yesterday. The trip to the pot was the best plan. Jerry if your after venom fins you need to get one from a shop stock as c3 don't make them any more and they have sold out their stock. Drake now have the rights. I have 3x g10 models coming from the uk.

Not often someone beats Kman for distance. Well done Juergie (even if it was by only 1 kmTongue out)

I Supped at pines where the wind was about 10kts sw. Once on the wave face it was good, but it was choppy waiting in between.

Couldn't believe how many people were out, for pretty average conditions. Easter does that I guess.

What gear were you on Evan?

Hey Evan, that wasn't too much struggle speed wise.Your Ezzy 7.5m should work ok with the 101 Futura on flat water. Probably as you said it's a matter of getting used to.I sail my 93l with the 7.5 V8 at the Pit, was actually consering taking it out yesterday, but the wind dropped off too much.I really found the limits of the barge yesterday.

Even and Alex are right, plenty of people, kiters not looking where they are going and anglers right at the sweet spot of the strip throwing their lines in the way. Low light was some idiot cutting across to shore when I was hammering down the strip in full flight. Just because he had the right of way by the sailing rules, he thought I should go further upwind passing him (daahh), forcing me 'beaching' the barge and going over the handbars in a foot deep water with a 44cm fin in the board :-(. Some expletives were exhanged.
