Queens Lake, NSW, AU Falcon 99 + HSM 7.3. FO Weedy 34

Everything from glassy to 15kn with the odd/rare gust to 17/18kn from the SW. Bit underdone on the 99/7.3 but was hoping the forecast would kick in to the 20-23kn indicated, but it never did. Still fun in the sun - comfy sailing around when the gusts were in, burning around with Phil, Dion, Steve and Greg arrived later on. Lots of black swans and seas eagles cruising around. Better than work for sure.

GMac lent me his seat harness - first time using one today. Felt like a big nappy, but I can see how it frees up the upper body and locks in the lower body. I will persevere with it because I think it is the way to go - will keep the waist harness for the summer NE wavesailing

I was adjusting my outhaul on the mudbank when I looked up and saw Steve buring down the mud bank with a trail of vapour following him - fark he was moving, he got onto the gust of the day and was hanging on for life with spray from the front of the board blinding him - he rode it all the way down the bank. I knew it had to be a PB cos damn it was fast - I wont steal his thunder, but the outcome was impressive!  Hope doppler doesnt rip you off Steve and you get a PB from that one - well done mate you were really moving

Phil got a PB too and will post in a couple of days as he has computer issues.

A very different day on water today. Wind made an early exit and left us with some dregs. Bloody Cold too.Needed to get out earlier, but hey there's always next time. Pete, Andre, Martin, Rob, Bill and Anton,(doing his homework) on water today.Got a few gusts on Hawk 93, Finworks 11.5, 6.0 GTX.

Great results from everyone yesterday.Well done to the PB'ers!!

Queens Lake with Phil, Dion, Adam and Greg later. Gusty Sw at 5-20 knots. Nice and flat behind the mud bank ,so was just a case of waiting for a good gust. Got 34.9 knot peak on the first run of the day, and couldnt beat that and was about to go in when i got a awesome gust in the perfect spot and went for it. Felt so fast and i nearly crashed at the end, but managed to hang on. Stoked with the speed and happy with the average pb as well.

I did not think there was any wind so did not rush to Canton today. So I missed out as the wind was dying! I rigged up my new 8.6mtr Loft Raceblade and went out just see how it looked had a few gusts. 8.6Mtr sail Bic 149L Vivace and Leading edge 40 weed fin.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU  Fun sesh at Queens with the local crew. Decided to check out the mud bank for once, so cruised across Bass Straight and was blown away to see how flat (and shallow!) that bank is. Had a few runs with the fast guys and totally enjoyed the dead flat water. I'll be definitly hitting it again next trip! 93 litre Starboard S-Type, 6.6 GP2

Congrats to on the PB's Steve, you were hooning across the flats mate! I only wish to do the speeds you, Adam, Greg, Mark H and J and others do daily. Too good.

PS- don't get the distance travelled, I'm sure I done more than 2 kays in 4 hours...lol

Big contrast to Sundays's wild winds. Everybody was expecting strong wind as forecasted but ended up very underpowered.

Well-Done Guys!

Adam I felt like I was there watching Steve after reading your post. I wish we had it on a GOPRO or something.

Adam awesome speed mate! Cool

Some times at Queens Lake you get a PB when the conditions are likie that. Wind dies off, water goes flat then the Big Gust hits. You get a PB!

TEAM SHIRTS WILL BE READY BY JUNE 14.

It looked too fast not to be a PB!!!!!!!   Man you were on the edge of Glory or Disaster blazing across the bank with the short sharp chop, but you held it man, you held it and have the glory of 2 PBs! Not only did you beat your 35, but you are most of the way to 37!  AWESOME EFFORT

WOOOO-HOOOOOO Phil my boy, 1.61kn away from the big one! Congrats on the PB!     Get a smaller weedy for that red beast and you will streak across that mudbank without catching mud or weed and you will really get to enjoy the flat water and crack 30 for sure. To be sailing such a short time and be as good as you are and as fast as you have become you should be stoked!

I reckon try a 30cm Flying Objects weedy in that board. I use a 34 weedy in my Falcon 99 and it is rock solid when comfortably powered, but i drop to the 30 when she is fully fired up. You can try mine next time at queens and see what you think. Cheers, Adam

Thanks Adam. Definitly getting closer to 30. I should have stayed there for a few more runs, probably would have pipped it, felt so comfy and relaxed- next time.  Gotta hunt down a smaller fin hey. I could feel my 36 cm job dragging at times. I was just waiting for the big catapult on a crab trap or clump of weed / mud. Steve said 30-31 cm too, so that sounds the lucky number. Keen to try your fin next sesh if ya don't mind. Now bring back the wind, hanging to hit that flat again! Was soooooo smooth, I should have sailed there all those other times...  Lesson learnt. Ok, it's time to channel my focus- 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30, 30...lol

Bloody magic Phil, feels awesome to get a pb eh. Well done, you were looking pretty solid out there. I'm looking at getting a new weed fin too. Off to see mark j to see what he has in stock this arvo, Greg has a vector weedy coming and is spose to be the ducks nuts, Adam has some vectors in the speed weed range. They look pretty sick too. Well done again. Cheers

Yeah, a smaller weed fin would help the confidence too skinning over those flats! I'll keep the 36 cm job for the Futura.
