Queens Lake, NSW, AU

Falcon 113, Meanline 40cm Pointer, 8m HSM

Got down to the lake early arvo to see lots of small sized windsurfing sails on the water slogging. Apparently I missed it and should have been there earlier. Rigged big gear and went for a run with a pointer fin. Jagged one lucky gust of around 15kn in the middle of the lake. Most of the time just enough wind to propel forward, with an occassional gust of 12-15kn to get planing. Heaps of black swans around. Nice to be on the water again.

GAbe, Aaron, Matt up from Forster. Garry, Phil Greg, Dion, Steve and Mark from Northern Marauders in attendance. Nice to meet James from Coffs as well.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU Sailed at Queens, Great tooo see heaps of guys out when i got there. Rigged up bout 12:30, Looked ok but not too much planing action. Went out anyways expecting the wind to come in, but  not today. Just spent most of the time bobbing about/sinking, but had a few planing runs. Should of used larger gear.

HSM 6.6, exocet 82lt, flying objects 30cm weedy. Thanks for the loan of the fin Adam, your always so generous with your gear.

Mark J, Steve gave me the weedy of yours that he had at the end of session as he was sailing when i arrived. Will return soon. How are all those Black project fins coming along? Cant wait!!

Queens Lake, NSW, AU

6.5 GTX, 101 Falcon, 28cm BP weedfin, gusts upto about 20kts WSW.  Trip up to Queens with a great forecast, which didn't quite fill in.  Only one long screaming run over the mud with a yeehaa at the end and a 10 sec average on that run of 34.02.

Nice to meet up with everyone at Queens today.A good crowd out blasting around the chocolate flat water of the mud banks. Wind was typically gusty and not as windy as anticipated. Never the less a great sail with surprisingly little weed.6.5 GTX SL104 34 BP weedy. Thanks Chris!

WSW-SW 10 -22k.Managed a couple of good runs early on. Heard Matt's screamin' whoo hoo and knew he was on a good one! Thought about rigging up 8.0 but decided it looked to be easing, so that was it. Hope the rest of the Marauders had a fab session too. Well done Gary on your PB's, and good to meet you.

When Steve & I rigged up it was about 20 knots. As we hit the water it died off. Rigged up way to small and had such a hard time trying to keep on the plane. Should have changed sails & boards. Forecast wrong again.Cry

Great to See Gabe,Matt & Aaron and sail with them.

Matt well-Done on your 34 plus Knots! You second best speed.

Gabe,Matt Aaron, looks like you guys did the right thing coming up to Queens.

Looking at everyones numbers there was not much wind anywhere. All the forecasts were wrong.

Yeah, Thanks guys. Wer'e envious of your spot, with so much potential. Not too fond of the launch wind shadow, but still do-able.It's always a bit of a lucky dip with the weather and wind strength, which makes it hard to select the right gear for the day. The forecast had all the makings, even the synoptic chart was convincing.Looked like most of the coast was the same.

Good to meet James and the rest of the crew of Queens locals. You'll have to watch out, you may find a few more people turning up to sail here! Phil, well done on the Alpha PB, and good to see you again.

Hey Peter, that's great NM and 2 sec peak. Well done!! Looked like you got there early enough.

Awesome PB's Garry and Phil.

The mudbank at Queens would have to be the flattest water in the area (except for Harrington).

Thanks Matthew and Gabe. Yous guys carved it up! I can't believe I didn't go over to the mud bank yesterday, instead just battled away in the rough stuff. But I plan to hit it properly on Wedensday if anyone is up for a blat.  I think I've only sailed the mud bank twice since buying a sailboard...
