Nice easy day at Australind with great company. Nice gusts around 25 knots and some smooth patches.

Managed to smash a cm off the fin on the rocks near the shore, which everybody seemed to hit.

Happy with the NM given the state of the fin at the time and the pretty gusty wind.

Sent Lao back out to get a NM so let's see what he comes up with. He came up trumps in the 2 sec challenge Cool

Melville Beach, WA, AU - 101L. 6m

Struggled today. Nothing worked. Pointman rigged up 7m, but I got cold feet, and rigged up 6m. Struggled with it, then I would be overpowered.

Should have been more fun, but somehow wasn't. Still nice to get out after so long.

Damn... should have gone to Australind...

Melville slop. Hit a floating log early on and smashed the fin box on the 47. Had to put up with the big board once the wind kicked in. Not a great day all round.

Fin Graters with the Coastal Mob, Bender and a couple of other blow ins!

Decided to start with an hour and rigged the 5.6 expecting it to boot (should really have rigged the 6.3 as well).

Good powered up hour with 34 gybes in it and a couple of lulls. Went for a few speed runs during it well down wind of the fin graters zone for a 36 display.

Came in and swapped to Lurch but was not really lit up on the 5.6 with weight despite some big bullets coming through. Was a good couple of knots off the pace. Caught one squall right towards the end for a very peaky 38.15 display much to JJ's displeasure Tongue outbut he got me on the 2sec Yell

Have come to the decision that the MXR 22 weedy/Lurch combo is not fast in choppy conditions unless sphincter clenchingly overpowered.

However it was absolutely rock solid all day through some pretty gnarly bear aways.

Only got one straight mile in but a bunch of 25+ with gybes in them. The straight mile track looks like a roller coaster with two patches below 25knts. Sorry JJ!Embarassed

Super fun sesh at Melville in a nice 18-25K westerly.

Mistral 112 + 7.0 TR9 + 38 Sting.

On the water just after 4 and there were some nice gusts to be had.  Second time on the 7.0 TR9 and it took me a while to get the settings sorted, but once I had it dialled and I found the flats out near the pylon it was bliss. Smile

First time I've been really lit on the 112, and she didn't disappoint, rock solid going broad over the back of the chop Cool

So much fun, I've really missed that, and the post-sesh sense of calm as I cruised down the freeway home....gold.

Hoping for more tomorrow, I've negotiated a Fathers' Day leave pass Tongue out

Tarifa, Spain, North 5.9 whose name I still cant remember. Started with the 123 screamer which is actually quite a nice board, wind filled in so tried a 115m wave board (Tiga I think it was). Wind was pretty good but then dropped of. Broke a harness line (quite a way out the back, managed to struggle in thinking it had come undone, did it up went back out to discover it was broken so had to struggle in AGAIN- hard sailing without a harness !Wind only really kicks in 300 m off shore but they have a line of marker bouys there so you know, very civilised and not crowded. GPS chopped session in two again, no idea why. But just added the Km as the rest wouldnt make much difference.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Heaps of fun out at Melville today and very nice in the flat part in the bay.

Hoping to break 30knots... so closeCry

and need to get a much smaller fin.

Was getting very powered up on the 5m at times in the middleof the river. Does anyone know how to combine two GPS FILES, I accednetly started recording a new file half way through so my 1 hr, 5x10 and distance are all off.

Hey Chris, thanks for getting that log out of the way. Sorry your board got munted. The old sonic 270 is my old board... stick a 26 on it and it smokes. 31 is way too big for it.

JJ! Smoking. Chris almost convinced me to do a mission to australind, but I figured the 4 hours of driving would be better spent at work or on the water.

Nice boost up the ladder, team!

Lao, That is a pretty amazing set of numbers all round. Looks like you were going for every category today, but especially the hour and alpha.Thanks.

Great speeds JJ, and an awesome nm! Top WA nm of the day!

Well done on the two jellybeans Patri(c)k! Glad you got a windy day off for once.

I found it really hard not to go sailing today, it was a great day for it. I had the afternoon off, but had to make preparations for the party tomorrow.

Sounds like it was a bad day for fins...

Smokin speeds JJ, nice one Cool

I didn't escape work til 3, so Australind was never on the cards, but Melville was sweet, easily my best sesh this winter.

Well done Alistair! Three PB's is an excellent effort, and some very respectable numbers too. You are going to be one to watch. Glad you are on our team.

I hope you don't take as long as I did to go from just under 30 to just over - it took me four days short of a year!
