Pelican Point, WA, AU

Pretty frustrating start. Had hoped for an early start for a distance PB but that didn't happen. Then the front footstrap screw decided to explode on the first run out on the 7. After cannabalising from another board, had A nice hour session with a couple of drags with Claude for fun. When I say drag, I followed as he smoked past faster than Fidel Castro smoking a Cubano ! Especially in the nasty short wind chop that Peli turned on today. Good to catch up with him, Istack and others at PP.

fun with the dredged Beaver! Nice seo for a change, with some good gusts coming through mid-high 20s at times. Fun with JJ Geoff and Adam, definitely not crowded and not so many kites which was awesome.

Used the M41 with 5.5m and new 16cm asy fin. Would have used bigger stuff but been a long wait for enough wind to test the fin and figured 5.5m is about as big as it should take. Good news is it smokes! Rock solid even on the wrong tack. Despite the wind not being epic by any means, I still got a beaver seabreeze PB with a 44 on the dial as well as the 5x10, and an alltime beaver 500 PB of 41.25! Stoked. Thats the 2nd fastest 500 I've managed in WA.

So allup a wicked day. The fin totally rocks and I cant wait to try it in some more wind.

And the good news is the dredge is not a problem at all. If anything it lines the run up really well with the outer mooring marker as the start. Perhaps the beaver patch has gotten bigger as a result. It seems shallower in places. But a 16cm fin with stacks of tip rake is not a problem. Didnt hit once.

yeeeeeehar summer is here.

Melville Beach, WA, AU

Nice session testing sails and fins and combos

Got to try some fins and sails I have had for several month but never used, , so I paid little

Attention to speed.

Mistral47 /evo 5 5.4/clockwood weed 23

Mistral 55/evo 5 5.4/mxr 20 speed weed/mxr ufo 30 24 wide/mxr speed weed 26

As above but with Evo4 6.4

As usual wind died 10 knots when I hit the water with the 47 and 5.4 combo

Found the 5.4 doesn't work so well with the recommended 400 sdm

Next time will try the 370.

Meville beach, cruised down to Peli Pt and had a few runs with JC and Isaac , bit of a wild ride getting back to Melville as the breeze kicked in.

sailed up to Melville in nuking conditions on a 7.0, had to psych myself a little bit to sail down wind to pelican pt in the peak of the wind strength.

tweaked the shoulder a little, just a few days rest needed. so didnt push too hard. Good fun doing gybe practice around the two yellow marks off pelican point! amazing gybing board for the 2014 model!

cheers guys. John I think a 19.5cm in the 47 with 6.4m would have gone nuts. But I dont have one yet... soon

Yet again, freakish numbers from you Chris and rest of the team not too bad either.  Pushed SRM into second on the ladder for the month.
