Well more toe pointing today than when I auditioned for Billy Elliot.(didnt get the part, they wanted someone whose hairline hadnt migrated to their back - go figure!)I had to get out early so i would be back in time for school bus so I went out intially with the QE2 and my 6.0 wave sail from the last millenium and of of course the Supermassive Decrepit weedy. The first hour was quite good fun but I dont think I am ever going to get the big board much faster than the high 20's. The wind then kicked in to 20 knots and made sailing with the big board impossible. I didnt have much time left so i just swapped over to my 105l F2. I could not believe the difference - I was totally out of control in every respect on the big board, but just plain a little overpowered on the little board but still comfortable. The tide was a bit too low, but man I love that MUF Delta - went for a charge through the snot and weedbergs to get inside - nice and smooth. I had time for one run through the inside and without even really trying clocked the pb. I cant wait to do it again and give it a good couple of runs and see what happens - crikey this is addictive!!Smile With such good wind I cant wait to see what the rest of you guys have done today......

Well thats the fastest I've gone in a while, and it felt exhiliratingCool almost forgot how good that feels, most speeds were done on the Manta 54, high 37's, then swapped to Nude 46, and all I could get was mid 34's in these conditions slalom boards are faster, and I thought one more run, and if I dont go faster I'll call it.  Then the wind picked up a notch, and woosh, 39kts on the dial, I thought woohoo, there's a 40 for the taking here i'll stay out, on my way back I hit a weed clump smashed my head into the sail, wrenched my neck and thought If I was going15 to 20kts faster I could;ve broken my neck, and thought no more risks and called it quits, fark breakin my neck or killing myself and people saying "at least he did it doing something he loved" thats BS, I wanna live and be healthy for another 20 years at least!!!!!!!

Not my best session.

rigged in a lull so got it wrong.

plugged the avi 5.3 into the 48 with the 23.5cm 30deg fin. Should have used the 5.0 with the 19cm 45deg.

The avi sails rotate better than the KAs, so I wanted to see how much difference this makes to my alphas.

By the time I hit the water wind had picked up, was a bit overpowered but manageable. Got the 30 on my way down to alpha land going past the outside rockgarden marker, couldn't believe how choppy it was, it's supposed to be fairly smooth through there.

Went for an alpha upwind of Tom's markers, but went in too close and picked up weed on the fin as I was coming out of the gybe.

Then as I took off, just hooked in, grabbed more weed as a gust hit, went around the front and through the sail, corking my thigh in the process.

Managed to sail back through the inside, but had to stop countless times to clear weed. To buggered to bother changing down, left it to Hardie and Elmo to do the speed stuff.

Tabou Manta 54, NP RSR Ei 5.8m Elmo Δ Weed 25cm

In memory of "Scooter boy" who we found out tonight recently lost his battle with Leukemia,Cry he was the cheerful young lad who used to come over from across the road and chat every summer whilst we were rigging and generously catch those mongrel crabs for us. sad news todayFrown

Apart from the downer at the beginning of the session, it was a whole lotta fun todayCool bit of an obstacle course dodging all the snot piles out there and there was a hell of a lot of them today, not to bad doing the run when you could see them, a few brown trousers moments trying to turn the board to dodge them, but theat was nothing compared to sailing back into the sun where you couldn't see them at all.

Great fun sailing with Anita "I'm not speed sailing today"  who was giving it heaps out there also showing of her exceptional dexteritry and board handling skills dodging snot, Great stuff.

Wanna fo that again and againTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue outTongue out

Great going Fangy, that 33 isn't far away, maybe tomorrow?

Maybe I lend you my 5.8 and 53cm board, if it's as strong as today you should get going on it.

Might have top join you, at Coodunup, that looks a lot flater than alpha land.

Great going guys! Man it was windy out there!

I agree Hardie, the slalom board was just as fast, but I can't work out why...

Glad you escaped unscathed Elmo, I was a bit of a bad luck omen for my other sailing partners today! Sorry your 40 got realspeeded.

Good to see that you two are still in one piece, your stack Joe sounds pretty bad! ( it's a good thing your neck muscles are used to lugging that boofhead around) If you do ever get a backbone, then have a fatal stack, rest assured I will write a really nice eulogy full off really complimentary stuff..Pretty impressive speeds all the same.
