Wallis Lake, NSW, AU

SW 10-22kts

Skate 100, Naish Force 5.3

Early session back at the sailing club. quite gusy but got steadier later on. left just after lunchtime and it appeared to be building to 30kts. Freestyle footstrap setup is not meant for speed! Billy no-mates, sailing with Lasers.

I did a decent alpha, but it didn't get picked up, does anyone know how to check and see if KA72 missed it? Thanks

Sailed with Steve. Rigged up small went out and wind died. Had some ok runs for a while.

Came in and Steve went back out with a bigger board. I called it a day. Was disappointed that the forecast was wrong.

I-Sonic 101, VMG 6.7m, JP 31cm Weed.

6.0 GPS, Tabou Rocket Air 95. Pretty good little session got really over powerd at one point was about 30-35 Knts but most of the time it was 15-22. A bit shallow over the weed bank should have had the Yellow Sub out there today. The Tabou Rocket Air 95 is a really nice board to jibe but it has a really wave orientated shape on the bottom so it is not really good for big speeds.

AB+54, 5.5 Vapor, 28cm BPweed collector.  Gusty, choppy, weed fin not shedding weed, on the plane, off the plane, nearly get blown off the water from a big gust.

Very ordinary sail.

A quick sail in the the rain with Micky and Johnny, not enough wind for my 8.6m but good to get on the water after a week of no wind!

I just hit 1000km! Smile not the greatest day for it!

Bic Vivace 149L raceboard with a JP36 weedy and 8.6m loft racing blade.

Falcon 113, Meanline 36, 6.3m KA Race

Rigged 6.3 and the speeder as it was soooo windy, dropped when we hit the water, so plugged in the 113 instead. Could have done with a 7.1. Tough sail, bumpy as a bastard, run dead down wind - but awesome to be on the water than not

KA Race 6.3 is such a sweet sail - looking fwd to plugging her into the 79 or speeder for a good run

Good sail at Queens Lake. Slow start to the day with Mark. Sw 5-15 knots, then nothing. Went out when Mark was leaving and wind came in Sw at 10-18 knots. Had a good 45 minutes then nothing again. Waited around and had something to eat, then back it came this time S-Sw at 15-25 knots. Used 7.3m all day so was overpowered in the gusts at the end so called it a day. Mark you should of stayed.

Used Fanatic ray 125, f2 sx 105, Hot sails 7.3m Gps, Jp 36, 31cm weedies.

Welcome back Tom! :-) How do you like the Skate so far? Do you have the version with the outboard strap option or the hard core freestyle version?

Hey Tom. Welcome back. Give us a ring next time you are going out. We normally launch from Coomba but meet up with the others on the water at the weed bank off from Green Point. 0431210409

Cheers lads, will give you a shout Bill, I added Antoine on Facebook too. I had the same problem as Matt, my weedy was collecting weed, thought it was a bit strange.

Hey Nic, skate is really nice... good speed but strange to blast with a normal fin and inboard straps. Normally have a small gin on it and sail of the front foot and windward rail. I got the beefed up version with the outboard straps     http://www.windsport.com/2010_tests_article?news_id=805

Glad i did though cos the baggage handlers cracked the rail, Glen who did the repair said its really well bilt and would have been worse on a carbon. Anyway you're welcome to have a shot of it anytime, just gimme a shout. Got an allwave paddleboard too if you fancy it.

I will have a look Gabe, did a few fast gybes and a smoking one up near green point, but KA72 picked out a really average one at the sailing club as my best, so its totally wrong

Good work Marauders! Good speeds there Mark and Anton.

Well done Irishtom and congratulations on your three PB's! It'll be good to catch up when we get back. Check out the posts in Seabreeze Tom, about zero alphas.A few people had this same issue, and they were able to resolve it with some changes to the GT31 settings. Otherwise email Mark Hampton.

Don't you hate those days Matt K? Yell

Be a few more days 'til we sail again. Friday/Sat at the earliest with the current forecasts.Pete and Jo are cruising over to Strahn and we're hanging around Hobart being tourists and sussing out spots until we can come back with some gear which is in Stanley. Bit hard finding spots that work on ESE to SE winds at present despite the "Tassie spotguide"which is good.I'll see how it goes with the forecasts and any info from the Tassie forum in Seabreeze.

hi mark can you put up my tracks i sailed on the west side with the men in grey suits . graham told me he seen 4 at the entrance . the tide was running out so fast when i turned i came to a stop. This will be the best spot in winter just need to sail 1 hour either side of the low tide . really happy with my 5 x 10 today really worked on holding the sail down .

Yes, men in grey suits made an appearance.  i went over to sail the same run as MJ was as the main speed run was just too square.....took off, sailed to the gybe point and and some bloody whalers of some sort had a bait school bailed up on the edge of the sand bar.  MJ wondered where i went after one gybe....funny look on his face when I told him...not Sealed
