Terrigal, NSW, AU

One of those rare days at Terrigal when we pick the right sail, the wind stays in, the swell is just a nice size, the sharks are slow & so is Tibor.

having said that it was not a day for speed, just beautiful big sail runs.  If Terrigal is too windy the waves are too hard for me, If it too light you dog it & struggle to plane but when it is good for an 8.5 it is as good as it gets.  CASL70, 8.6, huge weedy.

15-20kts E - ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

Decided I'd try my larger sail the 6.6m on the 95 for the first time. I was a bit worried as my eyeballs were hanging out of my head before I started from lack of sleep and I didn't think I'd be able to uphaul if the wind dropped.Great combo! Chop didn't seem too bad and got along well ( I didn't drop it much though). I didn't bother with the sand islands but had some lovely runs up towards Toronto and back. Even tried some chop hops for once. Got 1 one ok but  the rest were pathetic.Embarassed

Out c 1hr and going ok but getting a bit tired so in to get the 6m. Lajos & Al were on their 6.6m's. Beat lajos for once Laughing Have to write that on the wall as it won't happen very often..Wink

Love that 6m Severne it's  so light and lovley shape nice deep belly for low down grunt , very easy to use and rotates much easier than any of my other cammed sails which makes waterstarting a breeze. At least the cams are popped the right way. I'll have to work out why the others are so stiff/ impossible to pop over. When I get a chance and rich Wink I want to upgrade my 6.6 + 5m to Severne overdrives. the problem is I'll have to buy masts to suit as well so it ends up pretty expensive even if you go 2nd hand.

Disapointed with my speed but it was out in the chop and I didn't bear off very broadly although did bear off. Some photo below. Most of us had finished sailing by this time ( worn out!)..

Les & ? ( sorry) More B & J than speed conditions!

The Train, Southport, QLD, AU 12 to 15 knts 7.6trp maui ,Exoset 111l ,39v max fin.

very light a quick sail end of the day was nice and flat but just not enough wind but amasing to do that alfa and top speed in 15 knots of wind.

The sand banks would be good if windy.

Nice to meet the locals

Terrigal, NSW, AU  A good afternoon at Terrigal. 12-14 knots of warm seabreeze. Used my Starboard 117, severne Reflex 8.6 and 44cm Hurricane fin. It was not an afteroon or the place for going fast but very very pleasant planning down the waves.
