Peel st, how good is that, about 15-20 knots NE or NNE, amazing flat water.  Almost my first run I got a gust that just accellerated me more & more & I think that was the fast one.  Great arvo with Tibor, Mick, Pete, Wayno,Sue & PD (Tibor's older brother?)  Ancient Seatrend, 6.6, 24 MUF.

18-25kts NE Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Well the planets aligned! I got the flat water with a gust and bore off enough. I thought I got 29.11kts so stoked when I uploaded! I got my 2 sec up in the highest run so I'll have to aim for there more often.

Started with 6m Severne 95ltre Rocket + 30cm weedie. Handled it but tiring + muffed most of my gybes so in after 3/4hr.I think I got 29.11 with the rocket. Rigged 4.8m Hucker + 78ltre tabou pocket wave and 23 cm weedie. Bit worried about not being powered up enough but it had picked up even more so hanging on with that combo! Didn't get upwind as well as the earlier combo but worked out that if I have the smaller sails I can stand the rig more upright rather than pull it over me and sheet out a bit and it goes upwind well!

Every other time I've got over 28kts has been seat of the pants survival on a reach in chop . This was easy!

Flatwater. I have started to wind it up on a reach before I get to the flat stuff and then bear off. Before I used to just work upwind and then turn straight off the breeze. When I finally got my weight forward enough entering the gybes I did 2 killer gybes at the end of the speed run but they were too wide for an alpha. Bummer . I was sure I'd get a PB for them.

Ok. Now I need tips on how to improve my alphas.. Want to hit 20kts..Tongue out

Thanks for the speed tip Mick! Mick said when you bear off hang in there for 10 secs to make sure get a decent speed and it works! B horrible sludge at the launch. c 20 ' of 1 ' dry sludge with black ooze underneath that you'd sink into and it stank! Also got all over the boom end yuck..Frown

Bruce you just get better & better!

Naish 95SP and TR7 6.6. Finally a strong NE. Sand islands anything but flat, but atleast fairly windy. Best runs in the lower (traditional) spot.

Exocet Cross 94, Gaastra Pulse 5.7, 30cm fin - Wind NE 20-25 kts

An excellent Noreaster at Coal Point.  FSW board and 5.7 no-cam sail were a great combination for smashing across the chop.  Lots of fun, jumps etc.  Headed for a few runs down the sand islands but couldnt keep up with Andy and Hugh.  Still happy to crack a 30 although I feel a bit left out with rest of the team scoring PBs!

Thanks everyone! I'd almost lost hope of ever reaching 30 but now it feels within reach! I should have gone back out for a bit longer but it's a long drive home and I was late enough as it is.I was going to buy a new board but I think I'll just concentrate on the gear I have for the moment and upgrade my sails.

congrats Tibor.. Not a bad starting point !

Well done everyone!   Will have to get down to Peel St over the holidays.

Bruce - have you changed medication?  Every session is a PB at the moment for you!

Tibor - I liked it better when you didnt have a GPS and I thought I was faster than you.   Well done mate.

Sue - great speed for a wave board!  congrats, onwards to 30 kts now.

Andrew - Well done, you were rewarded for hanging on to the 6.6 - that old TR7 just keeps giving PBs.   Remi, Byron and Greg K taught it well!
