Boggy Lake, SA, AU

intially rigged  6.0/100lt/35cm - too small anticipating a build that never came.

swapped to 6.7 and 37.5 and was dialled thereafter. great day sailing with the boggy faithful, but i am knackered now.  will sleep like the dead tonight.

Quick blast after work.

lake george from cockys, SSE 18 to 24,

F2 sxs, 5.0 Koncept, 24 choco weedy then 24 techtonics falcon.

Great distance crew, Richard no 1 we will see what happens about that on my day off wednesday.

looks like a 5 day se then 2 off and then its back on again.

still not real flat even thou the 40 degrees days dropped the water a bit.

Wink might have to rethink my number thing as i topped the crew today, Tongue out had 3 nms over 30. ( edit 2nd to sam in hour and alpha )

Had new member  Yetti over the at the spit running on his new missile and seen Hot Rod sailing out from the drift, Danny turned up at cockys and had a blast with me he was on a 6.6 compared to my 5.0

Thehalf a dozen warnarbool crew are over tommorrow to keep me company so hope to be out by 4 after bloody crap work,

Stansbury, SA, AU South 10-15 later 15-20

SXS90, GPS 6.6, 34(28) BP weedy

Got there about 10.30 to find Tricky and Simon waiting, so rigged up and headed out in marginal wind and floated around a bit and planed a bit. Was nothing to write home about but we were patient, slowly clocking up the km's. Managed to find a glassy spot to get the 32 2sec peak early but after that floated around a bit more.

It was a good turn out though with 6 windsurfers and 2 kites so i had to watch out for the others on the water but they were all locals and as the wind increased later in the afternoon we all had a blast.

As we were packing up and having a few beers a couple  of unknown kiters headed out.

So all in a great day with friendsSmile

You are welcome to come to Stansbury Carl and Family. The caravan park is good. Don,t buy fish and chips from the shop though, unless you like 10 chips only with your fish ( must be the lap band surgery meal ). Pub is good.

There are some perils when sailing there Carl ( exposed bits on the spit, razor fish- soft edges sometimes but most times they will cut your bloody foot off or gash your body, lots of chop with some flattish bits, poles and buoys at the leases, the afternoon glare from the sun, the bone jarring chop as the  tide rises to full tide late afternoon, the odd fishing boats that anchor on the flattest water on the strip, fishermen that cast from the rock groyne where no fish has been caught since I caught them all there back in 1990, the relentless seaweed that floats over the spit with the rising tide and follows your fin around to mysteriously attatches itself to try to disprove the 40 degree theory, the holiday makers that think its ok to park in my spot by the greenest piece of lawn, the long drive to get there, some one burried a body there last month( you can't dig down more than a foot because its pepper rock)( i'm amazed that guy didn't rob a bank down here the try to escape on the one road off the peninsula),

Some of the forecasts can catch us out down here Carl and that would make you mad  if you drove all that way for no wind. I reckon the best time to come here is when its low dodge or nearly low dodge tide with a strong line of S-SSE-SE forecast for 3-4 days in a row. We can go out 3-4 km,s inside the spit , sail till the spit is covered then sail the spit. Could do 300km,s if we really tried.

Last time you sailed here you blasted past us easily but now i think we could keep up. I've been using the Select SL7 fin and the BP S32 upright fin and the larger BP 34 weedy on the SSX 90 and it flies over the bay chop like magic Carl.

I think me and Tricky are going to wait a bit longer for the ( magic time ) before we go to Lake George ( it's a secret for SA Speed demons only ) SHhhhhhh.

All right, I can't keep a secret.* All other GPS teams* the new best time for Lake George has been moved forward to June-July
