Stanley, TAS, AU. Sailed with Barry and Todd, almost a non event, rigged for a 2 sec but the wind didnt arrive in time.

Tried to salvage a nm which was my only good run for the day...

M 95, OD R4 6.2, CL24W

Stanley, TAS, AU  Hung around for quite a while with Todd and Geoff, waiting for wind, watching the banks disappear with the tide.

Resurrected a bit of value for the session taking a look at the eastern section behind the dunes, finishing with a long run back to the first channel.

JP49, OD 5.6,  CL 24.

Dorans, IS 90, R3 6.2. Couldn't get comfortable today...think it might have been because I haven't sailed for about 6 weeks. Tried for a NM but it was way too choppy out the back for an extreme bear off so had to put a gybe in it. got a couple of other good gybes too Cool

Coles Bay, TAS, AU

Another great sail with Simmsy, who is coming along very fast! ... this time off Richardsons Beach in the WSW, swinging later SW with some great punchy bullets.

Lagoon Beach, TAS, AU Always challenging on a SW but with a few rig changes and then a few more turned out good.

Marion Bay, TAS, AU. Isonic 2014 110, 7.0 ODR5, 42cm BP weedy.

Not too bad but wind had too much west in it. Cannot wait to try it in a proper SW.

Just got ya RussLaughing

Marion Bay, TAS, AU. 2009 Isonic 101, SSR 4.6 and Techtonic Goldwing 32cm

Wind was very up and down. Stoked to finally get into the footstraps at last. New RDM mast on the 4.6 worked a treat, with great camber rotation. Also tried a new Techtonics fin which was nice. First sail at Marion and I had a sting ray come up on the nose of my boardUndecidedSurprised

Marion Bay, TAS, AU iSonic 110, 7.m R4, C3 40cm Sting II.

Waited too long deciding what to rig (6.2 or nothing), then eventually rigged the 7.0 and the wind died out (arrggghhh).  Steve, Russ and Fergus were getting some good runs in.

This spot should be pretty good in a proper SW'er.  Definitely need a weed fin though, so you can go over the flatter weed beds and into the shallower water.

Russ or Steve, Marion's in a SW? Were you sailing in the usual spot, but in the lee of that sand spit and oyster beds that's usually downwind? Is this the new winter souwesterly hotspot?

Yes Steve the 7.0 on the 80 Isonic. The board takes a 7.0 and the combo feels very comfortable too.
