Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU     Well, it was a pleasant way of saying good bye to Canton and Peel st for the winter. Really, the water was higher today than ever (when l was there) but l was still scared to totaly go for it half thinking of the consecvence if l hit the ground or a big clump of weed which l really did do a few times. Luckily they were not deadly just emberrassing. Good winds for the winter guys! It was a pleasure sailing with you!

Peel St, ancient seatrend, MUF 24, 6.6. I think that was about west & maybe swung ssw in the arvo.  Good to know Peeli works in these directions.  Was very flat,  much better than Canton.  Do you think we could get the cafe at Canton to move to Peelie? That would make it as close to perfect as I am likely to see. Was good to see Muz so far from home, happy to help with your rigging any time Muz, those cams can be a bugger to get on if you don't have the years of experience & technical know how of an old fart.

Futura 122 Loft 7.5 blade..quick sail in a gusty shifty W/N/W..Lots of dogging between nice smooth water blasts.

Exocet 67 Gaastra 6.0.

Tried the same combo as yesterday but even more frustrating as wind dropped as soon as I was rigged. Eventually got out the iSonic 125. Much easier in those up and down conditions.

Isonic 97, 6.4 vapor, 30 vector weed slalom

Underdone most of time, should have been on 7.1 as a minimum.

First sail from Peel St, lake level was high apparenlty but still very shallow.

Great first impression, wind angle was good, water surface fairly flat, few big weed clumps only had one massive around the front eject.

Will definently be back for more sails on these lakes.

JP slalom 68 wide with a 7.5 Severne NCX. A very enjoyable day despite the gustiness. I sailed all day saturday and sunday and I was buggered by sunday night. Work was a struggle today as well, very stiff, sore and tired. Well worth it though I had a great weekend totally loved it.

I'll have to give Peelie a go. Looks like it wouldn't be too hard to get to the spot..

Aren't you sailing in winter Tibor?

Nice work Ian 2 PBs in 2 days. These westerlies seem to be agreeing with you, even if the rest of us are struggling.

Bon voyage Tibor and a safe return. We will expect some exotic location posts whilst we shiver.

I have to get Tuttle delta fin before I sail the banks at Budgewoi again. Flat water isn't worth a broken neck.

Why are tuttle better? Would a delta fin be better than a small makani freemove from a catapult angle ? Makani has a rounded wide base but more usual fin shape still only 18-21cms.

I wear polaroid sunnies ..I wonder if I can see the weed clumps better than everyone else as the only times I've almost come to grief was when i wasn't bothering to sail around them..?? Thinking Id be ok..
