Goal today was to sail Arlington with some boat back up & get the team NM numbers up .

After the usual hell ride over to GI from Yorkey's Knob I anchored up ,swam into shore, rigged & headed off over the channel.

Still waiting on a replacement MXT base plate so rigged with the 2012 mxt & thankfully put a spare in the Camel back (ominous feeling ...)

Just before I hit the surf break on Arlington I felt something pop-at first I thought it was a crack in the boom head but on arriving on the reef flats It became obvious that the tendon of the MXT had snapped in 1/2 .Thankfully a quick & easy replacement. The side ropes on the MXT held firm .

There was good wind on Arlington & patches of really nice smooth water but on every NM attempt today the wind dropped out for 10-20 seconds in the latter 3rd of the run so there was potential for a 34knot + run today .

Still really good fun .Its been a year since I've been over & unfortunately arrived a bit late to sail with VANDO/KEL/Dave & Kaleb .

Good wind predicted for the week  so fingers crossed for the GI EVENT SmileCool

Good thing you didnt hang around the coast for a warm up Kel - you, like me, would have been mightly dissapointed. Looks like the wind stayed out wide. Best of luck to you and all of the competitors in the Nationals this week.
