Narrabeen Lake, NSW, AU

Back to earth with a thud. Very light, gusty, holey etc. Big board. big sail, big fin. Pretty crap conditions but the sun was out and the water has warmed a bit.

Just cruising with Norman No Friends. Funny how sand banks can move 20 meters over winter, I found it. Fin a cm shorter but no other damage. At least I got a SUPer rescued.

Nah, not much to it Fangy. I noticed a lady trying to paddle a hire sup upwind and when I got closer she was standing on the tail paddling the board backwards and paddle round the wrong way. Had no hope of getting back to base into a 12-14 knot wind. I kept an eye on her as she looked like heading into the lee shore and possibly get back. After a couple of runs spotted her nearly on the other side of the lake. Luckily the comittee boat was setting the Wally course so I waved them down and explained. They took 2 trips to get her and gear back. They actually stopped to thank me as the asian lady wouldve had a walk of about 3-4 k's to get back and organise to get board and paddle back even if she knew where to go.

I am generally not in favour of rescuing SUPs( hot and bikini clad excepted) but this would appear to be the exception. Nice work:-)
