Hardly worth posting, however Tricky has something special to report.

Smile wasn't as soft as Hoppy  actually done over a kilometre.......

Lake George from the spit NW to W to N and gusty with bullets shaking the crap out of me.

JP 92 wave with 24 weedy, 4.2 ezzy wave. (should have rigged the 3.5)

at least it was warm, on the water early about 8 was sort of ok till 10 then went bullet gusts over 35 and swinging all over the place,

too old for survival sailing so called it quits.  Frown didn't really enjoy today.

way too choppy everywhere this time of year with the water level at its highest,

SurprisedSurprisedSurprised just beware behind snake island the droppers that mark the big rock are under water...BEWARE if you go back there.

EDIT ...........just seem Robe airport was reading 38 knot gusts when i was out no wonder I was crapping it....Wink

Boggy Lake, SA, AU

Boggy at 9:30 was stupidly windy.  Still at 1pm it would momentarily drop out and tempt you, but then a bullet gust would pelt through.  Wind reading was gusting to 39kt.  We rigged about 2-ish with bystanders helping to stop rig/boards flying off. I put my new 5.2 hellcat on the falcon 80l and leon lent me a 28cm fin.  Carl, Yetti, Christian and I headed out and it was pretty mad for the first sesh.  It took me a while to iron out the setup, and eventually it moderated some and I got some decent runs in.  I failed to gybe convincingly all day - just couldn't depower.

So physical today - but still good fun.  Clearly going to take some practice to learn this new gear.

Boggy Lake, SA, AU - 25 - 35 knots.

Had to pickup new board from SWS so arrived about 10am.  We saw Kimba - walking back from a early session and Leon getting rag dolled trying to head back to shore in mid 30 knot gusts Surprised.  Kimba packed up and left as our sacrifice for the wind to back off while quite a few of us waited and waited and waited.  All the wind did till 2pm was swung to nw and picked up with some gusts over 40 knots.

Decided it was time (would have headed out earlier but new board and all Wink).  Put on my smallest 5.5 and went for it.

New Patrik 87 - thanks SWS felt great from the 1st run.  The wind was still gusting in the mid to high the 30's and the water was messy.  2nd run heading back to shore and the new 87 decided it wanted to fly and launched straight up in the air but landed on it's own in the water - PHEW - all goodSmile.

Added some outhaul and back to it.  Headed up the top to try and find some flat water but was very gusty and choppy.  Made the trek back downwind and the wind started to moderate and chop eased.

It now gave me time to get used to the new board.

1st thing i noticed was very nice through the chop but very fast off the wind so had to keep it all together - feels like it will be very fast when properly dialed and gybing is insanely fastCool.  Cant wait to spend more time on this rocket....

Great turnout - great to sail in BOARDIES and cheers Yetti for the after sesh beers Smile.

Hoppy called me a girl after yesterday’s run, So I rang him and dragged him out of bed with ITS WINDY see you there at 9am. Driving down I was beginning to doubt my call ? How big are my balls? Dodging the sticks & branches blowing off the trees, knowing the tide was to high & the water  going to be rough!

Rigging with the side off shore wind & still getting sand blasted on the lawn & looking at the washing machine was a bit daunting, I am here lets go for it, I am not a girl!

Headed out  thought the soup battling to keep the board on the water hoping to find some flatter water over the spit were I might be able to lock it down & go for it. Made to the spit & I locked in some cool casual runs on port tack (look there a flying blue pig) & battled back on starboard managed a couple of jibes on the inside Had smile on the dial so called it quits before my good fortune (luck) came to a end as sailing on the edge & holding gear down in the water in the gusts was very tiring! Being picked up board & all & gently slammed back down was sailing too much on the edge

Thanks Simon for board caddy & Hoppy for help with fin choice. PB for Stansbury for me & a Record peak beating  Chocos peak for a couple of years ago  2 Sails in 2 days LG Life Good

Arrived at Boggy for an early start with only Leon and myself for the first few hours.  Hadn't sailed for 5 months for various reasons and was to keen to see how the "board breaking" cross training worked for windsurfing.  Feeling pretty good so I reckon I might be on to something.

I thought I would get out early to catch a bit more North before it swung and picked up.  Headed up the top for some flatter water and got there in one beat so it was pretty north.  Had some nice fun behind the reeds in a section that only works when it is cranking.  Some new weed is also growing which is promising.  Lean joined me after a few runs and we both took turns watching each other getting launched by the bullets on what was a square run.  I had 2 big launches and I can't ever remember that happening to me in flat water!  The wind picked up to another level with sections of liquid smoke so I called it a day.  Did the walk back as I didn't want to push my luck.

First time on the SL2 after getting it months ago, luckily I kept the cover on and there was still plenty of fairy dust! Looking forward to trying them in less trying conditions.  Got back to the carpark to catch up with the usual suspects.  Looks like they got out on the water later.  I nearly got blown over a few times while packing up in the carpark!

Well didnt have the GPS on for the crazy weather but put it on when I rigged the 7 mtr reflex and 105 Falcon, not sure what i was thinking... although was slideing around a bit on the SL7 32, just couldnt get the sail tuned, needed a bit more D/haul i reckon.

Went out with trousers and Carl with the 5 mtr and 85 liter mistral/maish special :-) scary ride for the first time on the board, cant wait to try it out on LG next weekend.
