Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Ancient seatrend, 6.6, 19 delta then 24 MUF speed weed.  The ordinary weedy went through the weed patches nicely. Good arvo with loys of guys out.

CA70 and Maui TR8 7.6

Another light NE which strengthened nicely throughout the afternoon.

Great to catch up with everyone, from memory Scott, Tony, Steve, Hugh, John, James, Lajos, Greg, Russel, Geoff

Did I miss anybody?

Managed to squeeze a 30 kt run late in the day which topped things off nicely

Slalom, then Formula, then slalom. Decisions, decisions. Its about time I ignored Seabreeze and just sailed what I can see, not what might happen. Still some nice runs interspersed with dogging.

Tabou Speedster 79 and the my JP 68 wide. NCX 8.0 metre and a flying objects 36cm weedy. Bleah... weed fins. The weedy let me get into the flatter water but I couldn't generate any power off the bloody thing. My 5x10's tell the real story. The 30 was from one big gust just as I got into the flat water.

A very enjoyable day with lots of people out. I wanted to crack 30 on the speedster 79 but only manageed 28's. It does that in chop lol. I blame the weedy.  Didn't feel like 74 k's!! I guess trial bay tweaked my fitness a little.

Exocet RS Formula / RS 4, Mauisails TR8 7.6 - Wind NE 12-18 kts

Top day of sailing in a sweet seabreeze.  These are the kind of days I was dreaming about all winter!

Started off on RS4/7.6 but not quite enough to get going so rode the Formula for a while.  Got 26.7 kts down the Sand Islands speed run which is a PB for that board I think.  After a while the wind kicked in so I swapped back to the RS4 and had some great sailing back and forth across the lake.

Great to sail with lots of mates, and even saw Steve Walsh on the water!  Nice to see him back on the board.

Lake Macqaurie Dolphin group FB- posted Sunday

"We have received word that a dolphin in the lake, was sighted with a crab pot caught around his tail fluke. The animal was supposed to have been observed around Speers Point today. We expedited a thorough search within the area, including Marmong Point, and found no evidence of a dolphin tangled in a crab pot, nor dragging a crab pot. Everyone please keep your eyes peeled for one of our lake dolphins who may be in need of assistance. If you do spot this animal, please contact the ORRCA hot line immediately, at: 9415 3333. This can be a life threatening situation, and the sooner we located an entangled dolphin, the better the outcome. Thanks for all your help!"
