Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU

Lonely old sail at Tinaroo, after the drive North yesterday. Wind all over the place, barely made it back to to shore right down in the sailing club when the wind droped out after the first launch.  Had about half an hour of reasonable breeze, so managed a decent enough short session. 123 Fanatic Hawk, 7.5 Ezzy

Was contemplating rigging the 8.6 as I didn't want a repeat of yesterday where wind backed right off and left me floundering around.  Wind was only showing 13-18kn but decided to go with rigged 7.8 sail and by the time I got to the water I realised I might be in for a challenge as wind had started to really crank.  Way overpowered for most of the sail and arms ended blowing up like popeye on spinach steroids.  Only managed to get about 40minutes in as I just couldn't hold on any longer.  Fin performed beautifully even though I had way too much board in some very rough high tide conditions.  Pretty happy with the numbers for this combo too.

Snags - Way over powered, serious chop and you still manage over 30 knots, and a massive nauti to boot. I think all those brain cells that you wiped out on the weekend were previously just slowing you down. Next time target the ' self preservation' ones and let's see what happens!! :-)
