Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU

Sorry guys, dinner beckoned and the child bride doesnt like to be kept waiting Smile. Lets start off with the words of one of our litery genius's, "Top Ten Day". So made the right call, although it was made very late. Didnt leave the house untill after midday. Should have dropped past Freddy's house to pick up pressies for the Tinaroo Twins, but didnt (would have added an extra 45 mins to my trip) - Sorry Fred. With the bride in tow, who just wanted relief from the Cairns weather and two teenage gorilla's we decended on the Lake around mid afternoon and I was certainly pleasantly surprised.

Was met at the waters edge by Herb and Hans and a stiffening 11-13knt Nor easter coming straight out of Fon Lon Bay - happy days. Got the missus set up first and got her settled in the her new outdoor living area, made sure she was comfortable as it would need to be home for at least 2 hrs.

Hit the water at 1500hrs with Herby not far behind me. Jeez, he looks the goods on the water. A number of runs we had almost identical tracks as I was following pretty closely and I must say, he is one locked in sailor when dialed in. It really is a shame that he tires so quickly, cause you can still see that he has the passion for the sport. It was a real pleasure ripping back and forwards with you mate. Thank you.

Not sure that it ever got above 13-14knts, but it was a seriously nice session after 3 weeks of no sailing. Typical Tinaroo - some really nice solid gusts and then moments of complete stand still. Over all though, planning 90% of the time and got some really valuable Alpha practice in. I reckon I would be the first one to say that if there was an area that I really needed to work on, it was jibing. Any way, I reckon we are well on the way now.

125 AHD - best $50 i reckon I have ever spent, 49 Select and me old faithfull "Blue Bludger" 7.5 T4

Hi Ross,     I think there is a chance of N/easters for a while yet.   I'm going down again this arvo, but not till about 3.30pm.

Thanks guys. Turned out to be a great afternoon. One thing that I really wasnt expecting and that was the water temp. Talk about nice - certainly no need for a wetty - just Firiebobs birthday suit and pair of boardies.

All due respect to Herb and Hans, I dont reckon it is competition these two old boys require too much of. I reckon the company plays a bigger part these days. Hats off gents.

Another PB Billy...congratulations.

And I agree completely with you Billy about the Tinaroo Twins (H1 and H2) and some company might be what is required!!

Hans ...good to see you out on the water again.....hopefully some N-Easters will help with additional  time on the water.

Keep those k's kicking over.!!       You guys are legends!!
