Had domestic chores aplenty this fine morning, some of which involved heavy duty rubber gloves and a plunger, so I was more than just a little happy to see the weedy shores of Fangyland. There was sailing action a-plenty as well as the lunchtime shift was already up, featuring Fin, The Capt'n and Fangy, although the latter was ashore having trashed (yet another) his boom and was selecting a replacement from the Trailer which was now , rightfully, reattached to the Staff Car. Rigged the F2 Vento with the NP Excess 6.4 m2 and Delta22. WindX arrived, surveyed the scene, thought about it but pronounced that Liptons was going to be her particular cup of tea for this afternoon Paul arrived and rigged his F2 and we all worked our way up to the smooth. Good wind so the smooth was lightly rippled....mmmm. The Capt'n was hell bent on getting a good hour in, Fin was everywhere, at speed, as usual, Paul disappeared up to Boundary Island and Fangy.....was seemingly in 3 places at once. He was getting serious hull speed on his new board and covering some nautical acreage including high speed runs over the weed....well, I followed but must have had the map upside down and I reduced my Delta 22 to a Delta 21 on an inside run. No worries. The sharp edges on the fin from the rock hit were easily smoothed out by some more shallow stuff and all that spin-out nonsense stopped. Basil came out to join the party and I got the message from The Capt'n that I'd left my car lights on. (Phew! I thought he was going to tell me that I'd stuffed up the settings on the GT31, yet again). I just couldn't quite get fully powered-up on the downwinders......totally terrified but needed more speed. Always more speed. It is a sickness. I do understand that.....and my shrink tells me that every day I'm getting a little better. But it will take some time.
Vroom Vroom.

3430 days ago Safety Bay.. Nice easy session, went early arvo to beat the high tide got it at 85, not that much wind with lot of west I found, but direction was good making the run going both ways.
Great been back on this combo, one of my fav. I was struggling on the 47 but when its going it feel fantastic, needed an extra 5-7 knts.

3430 days ago 2 categories Tabou Rocket Wide 108L, NP RSR E6 7.8m, Elmo SS 38cm
2 days of wading though varying levels and consistency of crap
Got down the run late (as per usual) and as per usual the wind was fading, so I rigged larger thinking it was going to fade more.
Note to self..... DOWNHAUL THE SAIL PROPERLY YOU STUPID IMBECILIC RED FURRY DICKHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hit the water, new mast foot setting had the nose of the board pinned down, the sail was top heavy in some F'ken gust conditions wasite high junk in the middle made it an interesting first run over, sailed back to Cox Bay and adjusted the mast track hich helped a bit did on e short run then another one over to Claudesville, much better this time but still had to have my wits about me (Uh oh) as it was still very gusty.
Turned and came back and then heard a strange "pink" sound, trying to figure it out and discovered a broken harness line... Oh joy I'm on the wrong side of the platform, oh well lets see how long it lasts, fortunately it made it all the way back to shore, pretty happy with that run 24.23Nm with a broken harness line through the junk.
Spewing about the line even with the problems I was on target for a good hour
Some days it's just like someones swapped your lube for superglue and the door bell rings

3430 days ago Fangtastic day @ Fangys with the Mobbers. Have to feed snotgobblers now - post more later.
Cap'n Calm was at Fangy's rigging way ahead of schedule. This was as a result of raiding Wazza's medicine cabinet. A quick trip back to the estate to get the cart back on the Merc and in the time it takes the Nursing Home to close the bus doors behind the Mobbers when they get dropped off for a sail, I was back.
The usual strategic planning discussions took place and the usual complete lack of discipline and application from me meant that I succumbed to groove in the smooth speed whenever I could. Actually I did try to knock out a couple of nauti's as per instruction, but it was not the last run that I got my score.
I had rigged up my favourite sail, Koncept 6.6 on my infamous Fibercrap boom. Needless to say, the Fibercrap boom, didn't disappoint when it came to really cheesing me off. The first big bear away saw the clip fail.
Quick detour back to the ranch for another boom and I was back n business. A quick hello to Windex who was lacking clarity on where to sail. Encourage Wazza to get his carcass on the water and I am back for groove in the smooth action.
A couple of hours of beautiful sailing followed. Wazza is reaping the rewards of commitment to sail regardless of conditions or personal injury. Every time he goes out the speed continues to climb. Cap'n Calm and Fin look the consummate balanced sailors, just cranking it out like a Swiss watch. Basil joined in the fun and a great session from the mobbers.
One of the best Top ten Fangy days ....

3430 days ago Just checked KA 72, gives me a bit more, so guess what. ---------------
Hmmm, have to watch that, doing an upload from KA72, after you've already done a manual one, deleats the original message, so good jobe I copied mine first, now I can just paste it here.
today was a mobbers for everything day, I started off early hoping to get an hour in before the predicted 22kts came in. Then my plan was to do NM's and speed. Decided to go for alphas at the smooth end during the Hr, not pushing too hard though, I didn't want to crash! Hit 28kts a couple of times doing them, so expected to get some good speeds when I finished the Hr and started bearing off. But of course the wind dorpped off a bit instead of picking up as expected!!
I started off with the 53cm board 5.8 koncept and 20cm 50deg weedy hopimg to change down to the 48cm board and new 18cm 50deg weedy, but I was finding too many lulls with the 53, so didn't bother.

a fun blast at coronation beach.
soon discovered that i am not much of a wave sailor.
as stuffing up a gybe is not fun in the waves with a 7.8 race sail.
but sitting in the shelter watching jaeger stone and ben proffit busting out big forwards, back and push loops with a cold beer in my hand was pretty bloody awesome.
