Tabou Rocket wide 128L, NP RSR E6 7.6m, Elmo SS 42cm.

Hit the water a poofteenth before 5 tonight (the joys of being back at verk) to see Webby out blasting around, the wind looked strongish but was up and down, so I rigged for the Down.

First run thought that the sail may have been a touchish large, the board was extremely happy and launching left right and centre so went back to the sandbar at launchspot and shiftee mast foot forward and lowered the boom a touch, much nicer than chips it was....Hmmmmmm chippies.

Started sailing towards the platform and the wind was dropping gybed to find that the glide of my board had dropped me in the shit and had to chugg back to the chanel as there was zip wind between it and the chanel marker, so once back there and going just went for the hour between markers.

The setup was going nice and I was foiling the fin very nicely, twas a bit interesting at times as I'd get blindsided by a bullet one of which had me leaning over the wrong half of the board, but generally it was just a pleasant sail.

Unfortunately the consistency of the wind got me in the end as I was sailing back between the unpowered and powered boat ramps the wind just went from nice to nothing (everywhere) in the space of 30sec's

Thus ended my session.

Nice to get out, smoked once again by the MASTER

We travelled a pleasant journey to Nairns, only to find that Fin had taken the hallowed ‘spot’. Luckily there was a tree, sparse by comparison, but a fair substitute available for our use. Obviously frustrated by losing his ‘spot’ Dad over hauled the downhaul, and broke the stitching holding the turban on the 3.7 wave sail in place. But all was not lost as I believe Dad in his youth had learnt how to tie knots and produced a warped granny knot… Once we got the all clear from the Sail Whisperer (Mike) we took the sail and QE II out to the water, but we soon learnt that the mast tendon had snapped, once again we were lucky and had a spare one, however this triumph was short lived as on my second “gybe” the knot slipped and we were left without any turban at all. Fortunately the Sail Whisperer came to help and produced a 4.2 wave sail. Take two produced a sound result of 9.1 knots in the company of Fin,Decrepit, PaulWA and Dad.

5 Things Learnt From Today:
Maybe this is a hint that you should rig up your own gear.
Never trust crabs
Patience should be practised regularly
Booms are hard
The wind is NEVER on your side

fifi :-)

(I will post my results as soon as Mum gets off the computer)

Fun at Fangy's with FiFi, Fin, Paulwa and Fangy who didn't get in the water.

Wind a bit light struggled to get upwind for a while, then wind picked up enough to get me to the end of the inside run, with a few bear offs along the way. But then Paul hit the water and it died, had a real grovel back to the cars.

Just checked my hour, it's exactly my planning trip upwind, as soon as Iheaded back the wind stops.

Arrived at fungees to find plenty of parking, so opted for a nice spot in the shade of a tree and started rigging

the 6.6m ka kon as Fangy & Fifi arrived on the seen. Set up the f2 SX-R 58 with the 18cm 45weedy and headed

west for the smooth waters, but the wind had dropt a bit, and after about 30, started to pick up again and started

to plain nicely, yeah its was fun, but then things went down hill again and the wind eased of, just made it back to

port before the big grovel.

A BIT OF COLOUR on an overcast day...

I was having a clouser look at my tracks, and found this to be interresting,...

the Nauti M, with gybes, just didnt get a gust long enogh for a good strate run!!!

Fifi - good to see you are having another go at windsurfing. Keep your Dad away from your gear. He makes windsurfing gear self destruct just by looking at it.
