Lake George, SA, AU || around 25 SSE

jp 69/ Koncept 5.0/ weed 22 & 24 by Sammy

Last day here, did not have the strength to do anything but speed runs.

It's been great to share the experience with so many good sailors, thanks to all that have encouraged me,

Special mention to Sammy, Jamie and my Sydney mates Craig and Artur that put up with my cooking

See you next year !!

How many PBs did you get at Lake George George? Well done. Have a safe trip home, take it easy on the road. No rush to get back here as there isn't any wind.

Thanks Nigel, I am back in Sydney, if wind helps I'll go to Botany tomorrow.

Some stats for LG that might help newcomers:

Sailed 11 out of 12 days spent there, which is better than normal.

Wind between 17 and 30 knts, most of the times in the 20-25 range

Most used board: JP69, then JP84 and i101

Most used sail: Koncept 5.4, then 5.0, 6.2 and once each 4.4 and 6.6

Fins: MXR UFO24, Weed speed 24, Sam's weed 29,27,24 & 22.5

So you should go much smaller that you are used to in Sydney.

Sailing outfit: full winter steamer + rashie on top & hood

Dangers: Don't pass between the weather station floaters and the station itself, there are ropes joining them.

Between cockies and 5 mile, upwind, the bottom has sharp stones, I cut my foot the second day, and I've seen others do the same. The salt water will make it worse every day.

I think the place is pretty safe otherwise, I had no major crashes or breakages.
