Whyalla, SA, AU

Thommen 115 Freex, 4.7 Blade and 15-30kts

I got a sail in before work so that was good. Its a bit hard to say what would have been a good size sail today. Rigged for the wind at the start. And the 4.7 was good in the heavy bits but nowhere near enough in the lulls. Or got good gusts in the last few metres of a run.

All good fun.

Boggy Lake, SA, AU

Northerly turned SW right on time, but came in harder than forecast which left us lumpy and gusting up to 25kts.Took the 78l Falcon along with the Hellcat 5.2 and a BP32.5. Really tough conditions to dial in today, and lucky if I got half my gybes. Also coped a violent catapult but helmet soaked it up. Came in when lightning struck in the distance but too knackered to really carry on anyway.

So yeah, a hard day on the water, fighting all the way, but good to be out on this (technically) last day of summer. Solid turn out, and ChrisD and Kimba dropped by, good to see those lads again.

Great last day of summer.  Hoping to get down to lake george this weekend to try out the new 5m but the forecast looked average.  Contemplated heading to sail with Tricky and Hoppy at Stansbury but forecast looked too late - so headed to the trusy Boggy Lake.  Should of taken the new 5m to boggy as the wind was 20 - 25 knots but left it at home.  Very choppy but great fun up the top near the reeds - shame was not as windy as in the middle.

Good crew out today and great to see Chris D and Kimba - great to hear Chris is back on the mend and back on the water in a couple of months Smile.

Boggy lake - 20 - 25 knots.

Patrik 87 / 5.5m Hot sails Maui 5.5 and Black Project R325.

Boggy Lake, SA, AU

Another unhappy day. Wind a lot stronger than predicted. Overpowered on the the  106l board with the 5.5 KA Race and 35cm fin. First time on the KA, felt so good,  just too big a board. The roughest I've seen it a Boggy. Had a few good runs though. Didn't try to get over to reed beds as figured too difficult to get back in such strong wind.

Smashed my should up on the last run plus lost my prescription sunglass's earlier at the launching area Cry  but still had fun.

Very short sail found it had big wholes in it. Was rigged perfect for the gusts but was dead in the water in the lulls unfortunatlly I found there was more lulls than gust. But the 5.7m Apeex which I was using for the first time was feeling great powered up un the gusts.
