Awesome session with Keith and Gav. It was less than a foot deep in most places, but so smooth it was like sailing on butter Cool Totally stoked to bust 30knts! Thought I'd get an Alpha PB with some really fast turns, but they still felt so awesome. Those delta fins don't like any backfoot pressure and take a lot of getting used to... not for me and I will look for a smaller Unifibre fin, which went really nice. It never spun out and went upwind nicely. Well worth the 2.5hr drive to sail an awesome spot with some great blokes. Thanks Keith and Gav.

Congrats on all the PBs Palleaon Cool Always improving!

George, nice 2 sec especially given the lumpy stuff you were sailing in.

Remi, 21+ Alpha in that slop is impressive mate. I found it challanging to gybe the new Falcon in even small chop.

good one Nigel ! life begins at 30 knots Smile

Probably your fastest jibes were too wide, it happens when you're bearing off, if you have realspeed or GPSResults you can play with the gate width to check....

Congratulations go to Nigel and Palleaon on the PBs. I assume Palleaon was in Wagga which is not an easy place to get good sailing conditions.

I can hear Nigel's excitement from here on reaching 30 knots. Well done mate! Great to see you have unleashed the Falcon and getting results.

The deep and high speed jibing in flat water does feel great. But using a Delta it will hurt returning back upwind to achieve a good alpha. If you can review your tracks as powesloshin said you can work out what to try next. Or you could try to follow Keef but that could be dangerous if he stacks in front of you...

Hey Remi. You must have knees of steel to maintain those speeds in that chop in Botany Bay. poweslohin is smoothly cruising at 33knots nearby in much flatter water of Woolaware Bay. Mind you Woolaware Bay is a long swim or drift back to shore if something breaks....

Good to see a big Falcon in use in Victoria Seaskip. Getting out for a sail in any conditions is what it is all about.

Great to see you got some PB's on your trip down Nigel. Hopefully next time we'll both have more time for a chat.

Congrats Nigel! Sounds like a good sail. Those glassy smooth waters are so addicitve if you can find them. I agree re deltas. I used to like them before I went to Lake George and got used to a decent small fin. Now I hate them!.Yell

Thanks guys. Pretty happy with finally cracking 30knts, but in that glassy water it didn't feel fast... I always imagined 30 would be my most frightening run yet Wink

SeaSkip... sorry mate. I've been really slack. I'll get the tees out to you first thing Monday. My email is nigeljdawes@gmail.com Can you please shoot me your address again. Thanks mate.

Hey Sue, yeh, I really preferred the Unifiber Weed fin... it pointed really well and never spunout even driving upwind with plenty of backfoot pressure. It's 24cm and was touching the bottom occassionally, so I'll order the 21cm which will be sweet. Highly recommend these fins if you're sailing shallow, weedy water and don't like deltas. I should add though, that it was one of Keith's specials, so not a true delta.
