Started the 2015 season with a warm SW day off Avon, NC. Very rough chop with little to no shallow water, but was able to put down some decent numbers over the course of my 8 hour session. Still blowing, hope to do it in the rain tomorrow. RRD X-fire 98ltr, Maui Sails 6.6 TR-7 and BP 31 Weed Speed fin. Mid twenties at it's peeak made for a great day!

Went to Kennedy Slicks to back up Dean. Meter readings were 28 when I started, but dropped when I hit the water. Oten had to wait for gusts to get going, especially on the inside. Not enough wind to waterstart close to shore after 45 minutes. Submarining the XFire 90 did not work well, either, with all the neoprene and winter fat, so I swam the gear in. Fortunately, it was just 200 m, and the water is getting warmer - must be close to 40F now. Still, was fun to be out on flat water for a bit.

Can't complain, had a few good to great sessions last week, and the next two days also look promising. Hoping for a speed session in Barnstable Harbor tomorrow afternoon if the wind turns north enough; otherwise, wavey fun in Skaket.

Nice numbers, Dean! 27 knot mile in 25 mph wind - I'd love to know how you do that! I hope you get some more tomorrow morning before it drops.
