Melville Beach, WA, AU 6.4K 111iS, 40CF

Thought I'd better stay local today. A nicer than expected sail. Sunshine, no rain, WIND, good company...no emergencies this afternoon, and my first sail in two weeks! Very gusty early but the wind filled in nicely later on and I was well powered most of the time. I was gybing well today, although my alpha doesn't show it because it was hard to find a gust that lasted all the way through the gybe and exit!

Melville Beach - IS101, CR6.5, Volt 36.  More holes than a Swiss cheese, but the gusts were huge.

Late afternoon sail at the local, I got down there as most of the other people were packing up. Perfect way to end the weekendCool

Good to get wet at the local after a week doing winery chauffeur duties.

Got a bit overdone at the end but a few fun lumps to turn off.

Coodanup, Fangy's

Good to catch up again with the southern crew Cool

Wind was a light 15 to 18 knots at 2.30 so used the XFire 112 - stoked to crack a 31NM on a big board in reasonable size chop.

Tried the M91 when the wind briefly picked up at about 4 but it was a bit slower, so went back to the 112 which was definitely more fun in the chop and marginal wind.

XFire 112,  CL SW 31,  KA Koncept 7

Safety Bay, WA, AU   Tabou Speedster 100l, 7.5 30 weed. It was too bumpy for the fast board and I had a job to slow it down, not to go flying. Still fun.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Rocket 105, Koncept 6.6, 32 fin

Moving the mast track forward gave a smoother ride. Well powered up most of the time.

Nice alpha Patrick!

GS, looking good out there today!

Andrew, sorry I missed you today. I had your T shirt in the car!

Nice naughty JJ! Faster than everyone else by a mile, and not much slower than your 5X10, and that's a pretty slick alpha for someone who claims he can't gybe... Top Coodanup speed for day too, and that's good considering the company. Great session - next time let us know where you are going so we can back you up better.

Lao, "Got a bit overdone at the end" I hope that was today's wind and not how you were at the end of the winery tour!

I enjoyed my sail so much yesterday even though it was gusty and I was no where close to a PB. It must have been because I hadn't sailed in two weeks and I had forgotten how much fun it was!

Anita - I got lucky yesterday, Stroppo had to leave early Wink

Lucky also with the NM as it had a 26 knot hole in the middle as I hit a lull - I guess the advantage of bigger boards is you can accelerate up to speed again quicker with the next gust.

I wasn't sure I would sail Fangy's yesterday - I was prepared to do a roundtrip - Fangy's, Liptons and maybe back to SB.

Good to see you on the water Anita!  You seem to have been working and no sailing for too long.
