Well that was just a little unpleasant, rough as guts and at times a survival test. Was tempted to sail up and down the carpark there was that much water washing over....ok maybe it wasnt that bad.

Crazy Waves with JJ and a few of the usual suspects.

When we arrived it was looking a bit ordinary and the rain came in so we went to the fig for a coffee.

A glimpse of blue sky dragged us out and the wind had filled in so it was game on!

Rigged the 4.2 KA Killer (thanks Jesper) and put it on the 84L Rider twin.

Had 2 hrs of top Crazy (and it was) Waves sailing. White out squalls, rainbows, brief periods of sunshine between black skies.

The 4.2 was perfect with a really light feel in the corners and control in some nice floaty jumps.

Great to see Speedy boosting some jumps and snapping turns!

Hopefully that weekend will keep me going through the next few weeks of the W word.Cool

Bring it on winter!

KA Killer 4.2, Rider twin.

Late outing and most people had already left. Good to see John, 25, Ian, Chris L etc.

Borrowed one of CLs fins and I recon that I got 10% more speed out of that fin compared to my Vector Volt II.

100l Patrik, 34cm Vector Volt, 33 cm CL2, 6.6. KA Koncept.

Well what a day. Stong wind, gusts, lulls, very heavy rain, very high tide, and lots of chop. Nearly forgot: there was thunder and lightening as well.

Rigged 5.0 Koncept and 80L Xfire, and it was horrible.   Yell  Sinking in the lulls and banging and clattering in the gusts. Thought I would give up but then, just maybe, try the 105 Rocket. What a difference. Soft on the chop and floaty in the lulls. So at the end of a day I was happy to have actually sailed proficiently, if not very fast.Smile

Melville. The rain just wouldn't stop today.

Rigged up 6m and 96L, and the mast snapped straight away. As I couldn't rig up 6m on 460 mast, I rigged 7m, and pulled out the 115L. Big sail , small fin, board too large....no end of struggle, until I hooked back the 96L and the power of 7m sail was more controllable in that chop.

Apart from the initial frustration, heaps of fun. Good to catch up with Ricey.

When Lunny only sails 18 km you know the conditions were bad! Good speed considering the conditions!

That's winter sailing! Whatever you rig will be wrong ost of the time.

Looked horrible out there today. Well done to everyone who had the courage to sail, and came back in one piece.

Sorry to hear about the mast Obelix.
