Port Douglas,  Had a fun hour session with Atomiq 120litre, 6m Gator, 38cm Maui fin.  Solid breeze was alot of fun till it died off.  Pretty strong at times.  Mast base back an inch.  Really funny but later on towards the end, moved the mast base forward to within a centimetre of its recommended and the board felt dead like a lump of wood.  Ed came down for a chat at the end.  22 knots top speed but plenty of fun, well worth the time.  Having the mast base back I could really drive the fin, plenty of lift and plenty of glide, very smooth and very little of the board in the water.  I am definitely becoming a convert to Ed's mast track theory.

Good one Snorks,I'm usually shagged after 80km and no pit stop..Good PB...Hey Andrew good to see you are picking up on all my bad habits,The rest of the team might have a different  view on things.. Have had many discussions on  fin size and mast positions on boards.Their are many different theories on the subject..unfortunately most of them don't seem to work to well for me,Think it is the way i sail.So i always go back too what i know will get the job done..If anyone has any thoughts on this subject now is the time to speak before Andrew is totaly lead astray by me...All in the name of fun..Cheers Ed..
