A bit more wind would have been nice.
I thought I'd try for an hour today and practice gybes in the process, as I did a reasonable hour last week even though I stopped for a chat in the middle of it, but there just wasn't the wind today. Not that I was expecting much, the forecast was very ordinary, but when I got there the breeze was rather nice. Unfortunately it dropped as I hit the water (a bit delayed because on my first attempt I found my harness was absent when I went to hook in) and continued to fade during the afternoon. It was hard for me to get going after the gybes, and hard to get a decent speed going in to them. At least I made most of the gybes, and the starboard tack ones are improving. Despite all that it was a top 5 hour for me, and the best this year, so I can't complain too much.
