Primbee, NSW, AU NE, gusty, up to 16 knots or so.

A short, late afternoon sail with Ben. First outing for the Reflex 7 sail. A sweet looking sail - wider luff sleeve than the R6 and a "simpler" construction.

Unfortunately not a very comfortable session with the wind gusty and swinging. I pulled the pin early.......Frown

Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU

Had the same idea as Eckers and started early with the kids. Finally got on the water myself with a 7.0 evo7 with Lenny, 62cm wide slalom, which ended up being too big, but still a fun session. Great to see a lot of Gustbusters having a blast.

Alas, no GPS tracks for me from Sanctuary Point today.  I'd like to blame technology but it could well have been operator error - Ie forgot to turn it on.

Great little morning training session for Julian (JuJu, 9 y/o).  He really nailed it today in the light winds first up.  For the first time he was able to sail to and from the same point without losing height and nailed his first unassisted tack.  (All with me paddling the kayak with both 4 y/o twins on board shouting instructions and encouragement).  Gotta put the GPS on Julian for his next session - he'll be smashing some PBs shortly.  He was on his 2.5 Ezzy kids sail and my 105l hypersonic with a 33 cm Makani weed fin.

I then rigged the 7.5 RAF Gaastra Matrix and took the twins each for a burl on the front of the 210l starboard start with the select XXL weed fin out back.

I then threw the mast base on my new (second hand) SUP - the Angulo 'Big Buggah' complete with thruster fin setup and proper mast track - all 190l, 11'11"  in length  and 31 inches in width of of glorious beast!  Had a blast still with the 7.5 Gaastra!  All three kids had trips out to the pole and back perched on the nose.  I swear I almost got her planing, despite the lack of footstraps and the enormous rocker on her.  If i ditch the two small thruster fins, I'm sure she'll plane beautifully!  With the enormous length (11'11") and hug rocker, the nose was riding a full foot above the water!

I then pulled out the 158l starboard free formula, threw on the select XXL weed fin and had a horrible, mostly sideways trip across the lake.  That fin just sucks!  Came in, swapped the 38 cm Makani HaHaLua weedy and it was a much more respectable showing.  A few laps with that combo and then it was deemed there was sufficient wind for the slalom board.

Pulled out the 104l Fanatic Falcon, again chucked on the 7.5 Gaastra and 38cm Makani HaHaLua weedy and a had a blast with the local gustbusters.  I still maintain that the ACT rego on my trailer entitles me to temporary 'members parking' at Sanctuary Point!

And there you have it, 4 boards, 2 sails, a SUP, a kayak, 3 kids, the missus, a great family day at Sanctuary Point!  I think it was the first time ever that every board/kayak in the trailer got wet on the same day.

But alas, as I said at the beginning, to GPS tracks to prove it took place.  (MT will vouch for my presence I'm sure!)
