Boggy Lake, SA, AU

Very patchy afternoon southerly up to 15kts, but enough to let me test ride my new OD 7.0, paired with the 100l manta and a 375BPR.The crew was small; Leon, Mike and Geoff and PJ, but I don't think anyone was disappointed. We all got a good sail.

Loved the OD; rock solid and I reckon it'll let me hold down a fair bit of wind. Keen to test in in real conditions now.

boggy lake 15/20sth

 tabou 118l 7.5 serverne od

light wind found some speed thru middle of lake, gave it everything and nearly had big stack by catching outside rail in chop whilst lift inside rail to flatening board, scared the shit out of me. had break then went out and did my pb. 5 guys out thought may have been more.

Could have been a good day had I rigged the right sail. Started off on 5.2 Hellcat, got a couple of good runs but very patchy. Wind died out and had to walk back from a long way out. Changed up to the 6.0, still not enough, went for the 6.5 Severne NCX on the Exercet 58, finally got it right as the wind picked up. Not much distance for three hours on and in the water but everyone else had a good sail. Not a big crew for a reasonable forecast.

Meningie - 15 to 20.  Nice place to sail - big open water lake.

Day 1 was light so Sam and me took the catamaran out - had fun capsized it about 6 times in light wind - alot of fun but geez slow compared to windsurfers.

Day 2 took the kids out on the boat and then my parents turned up with the supercharged jetski so took that for a blast while the wind picked up nicely.

Had a nice sesh but had to pack up for the trip home.  Was nice meeting up with Sam's family and great fun blasting past the guys on the cat's.

Patrik 115 / 7.1m gun sails gsr / Black Project RS40.
