started out nice and windy from w/sw then swung to s/sw and got a bit holey.
started out on a 80 ltr nude/mistral proto with a 27 vector weedy and a 6.2 severne r3 but ended up changing to
a 107 iso with a choco 33 weedy due to the big holes in the wind.
was way too messy for anything approaching decent speeds.

The old story, you shoulda been here yesterday old fella
The wind was from wrong direction, it was gusty and it rained a bit, I normally hate sailing in the rain, oh and diddums was getting not only rain but sand in my eyes. The local guns were saying go small Bob but ya can't trick me, I've heard that before so nup I didn't, while carrying my gear what felt like 100k over sand sand and through shallow water, on and over rocks and sharp shells it was really blowing, me thinks ya knucklehead, shoulda listen to them boys even though they look like they have no clue. By the time I launched I was already shot and thinking I'll be buried at sea. But hey hallelujah sail size was perfect, forget all the other neg crap, set up felt real nice, no 40 but a very enjoyable sail, a really really good one. Burrum is still one of my favourite sailing spots, a big thanks to Glynn and Ian for staying another day to look after the old fella Later had a great get together with Sue and Glynn, Gail and the Burrum Lord Mayor Ray, after a couple of drinks it got a bit silly but hey we're still only kids

2919 days ago 2 categories Very Strange day, balistic wind all morning and high tide, so wimped out and waited for it to ease in the arvo. Thought I'd totally blown it, arrived at Liptons to find Yoyo doing some gardening and wind about 2kts failing to make the smallest ruffle anywhere near shore.
Yoyo was doing a good job, there's now plenty of room to get a board down to the beach at the southern end of the carpark. However I thought we'd be better off rigging and hoping for wind to come back. Thing is what to rig, I'd left all the bigger stuff at home.
With fingers hard crossed, I went for the 48cm board with the 5.4 koncept and 19.5 45 deg PB weedy. Floated around for a while when Yoyo had the bright idea we should swap boards so at least one of us could get on the plane. Well that worked really well, not only did I get his board planing but it also brought the wind back. Hallelujah! Was fairly gusty and didn't take long for the chop to build up a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Stuffed a spare bladder in my camel pack to bring it up to 4kg didn't seem to make much difference. Rig choice worked out OK, 5.8 on the 43 may have been a tad better downwind in the gusts, but not as good getting ipwind in the lulls.
For a day where it looked like we were completly skunked it didn't tun out too bad.
