Bonnells Bay, NSW, AU maui TR9 8.4, exocet RS4, v max43.

well sailed without a break for 4 hrs and planed all the time top spot.

Only light but a great sail and in a northerly the windiest spot around for sure, As can be seen by no one else sailing.

You need to go where the wind is not the same place if you want to sail somtimes.

Very light session on the water about 3, chasing gusts at Teralba Sailing Club.   Had a couple of planing runs in the flatter stuff.

Peel st 5-18kts NW 115 xcross + 7.8m OD = 20cm delta then 38cms weedie

Should have put a decent fin on and gone out in the chop. Some good puffs coming through when I arrived .

I even put the 90ltre on standby but the angle meant you had to go out in the chop to get upwind and I didn't fancy dropping the heavy sail on the smaller board in those patchy conditions.

Spent the best of the wind getting upwind into the depper flats. The weed is VERY thick and I was forced into the shallows - catapulted once as too shallow.Mm looking at my tracks I was in close Embarassed but I'd survived that close in near 7th avenue.

Luckily I was only going slowly. Finally got out 100 m odd S of the pole in thigh deep water and there was a 100m odd flat deep spot inbetween the shallows and the chop. By now most of the wind had gone.

It was fun going through the flats but there was a heck of a alot of drag. We need some rain to lift the lake level up 6 ". I was on my lonesome for the first 2.30hrs. I could see the blue sky line approaching so sat around in the flats waiting to see if that would improve things but got impatient and came in just before it came. There was only c 12-13kts for 15mins in it anyway and patchy.

Milsy , Mat , Michael , Royce, Nathan and Pete onshore and Nathan , Royce , Pete came out although it was mostly over by then . Even pete struggled to get planing occasionally with his 8m sail and big board. I got sucked back out seeing Pete plane one run. Stuck the big fin in and went out in the chop but not enough to be bothered. Sailed c 3.30 and got 27kms...Wink a lot of non planing though. Oh well it was sail and 'training' for when it does blow again.
