Fun sail with fin and strop at cheesegraters.

Great call strop, this proved one thing, there's enough water to sail there now.

Wind was square, and dropped off as soon as we hit the water, so we were all underdone. I'd rigged the 5.3 koncept with the 48cm board and 19.5 45 weedy.

(yeah I know there's no weed, but I was thinking I'd have to sail through thick mud, and thought the weedy would cope better)

Fin and Strop found the best launch spot, they managed to sail virtually from the beach, but I was a bit off and had to do a body drag through thick mud before I could sail away. Coming in was just a matter of sailing right up to the beach, and I think the weedy does make it easier to sail in mud.

The bar is a fair way out of the water but didn't seem to affect the wind too badly, when it was blowing sailing close to the bar was a blast.

yoyo's tracks

But as you can see from my tracks getting speed meant bearing off from the bar.

This google image must be ancient, the road in has been bitumen for over 4 years, most of the bar is now covered in scrub, as is the section where my tracks out of the carpark turn NE, that's now all waist to head high scub.

Tabou Rocket wide 128L, NP RSR E6 7.8m Pepe weed 39cm

Managed to scrape myself up from my own personal ball of misery and went for a sail down at Cobblers

Was quite nice and not to choppy bit of a bugger getting back up wind.

My companion kicked in the afterburners whilst out, but worked on the principle it would hurt whether sailing or not so just carried on in spite of it.

Only sailed for 1/2hr but it was nice

  Preston, lake.  WA

Another new, out of the way spot,.. for me. A nice place at the end of a plesent drive through the

country side. Things where looking good at first, and while rigging up, but then the wind eased of a tad,... hu doh,...

I was fun getting to know a new spot and the 200m or so walk to the water wasnt too bad, [some may find it a bit much??,ha]

Anyways I had the old slalom52, NO!! sorry,,,,    my bad, what was I thinking???...    Foot in mouth

The Old Muffin board, with the tail reduction of 47 to 40 wide & Avi 5.3 and yoyo 24cm45 fin.

All went well. Apart from that,..         Undecided

Still extreemly salty, but I'm used to closing all orifices when going under water. There's a pic in my phone somewhere I'll see if I can get it on here, back in a sec or so.

Well that took a lot longer than expected, but here it is at last, thanks to Strop, it's what he used to "incentivise" us.

yoyo's

And this was taken while the wind was blowing!

I thought about Yoyo's but so glad we went to Boombas. It was much more fun, and a lot cleaner.

I ended up having a quick sail at bender land nth on my way up for night shift. Was pretty flat right up near buffalo rd but some huge weed bergs were present Making it a bit hairy to sail in there.

Lots of weedbergs at Boombas too, but the delta fin hardly noticed them

Looks like a worthwhile day Capt'n, Fin and Elmo!  Looking forward to trying all the wind you've left me next week.
