Sorry everybody who missed out, but that was the best session all month!!!! Full sunshine, consistent wind and water not too choppy.

And almost spot on forecast, why you may ask, is it because I didn't load the speed board, Elmo's trailer was very absent, or was it because of Fangy's tradie keeping him away?????

Whatever, wazza and I are very gratefull.

Measure 17kt average and 21kt gusts when I arrived at Island Point, Wazzy was on his way, but Fangy was waiting for a tradesman, Fin has a wog, and sensibly is staying warm.

So rigged the 6.3 KA Race, and wacked the 25cm 35d fin into the 53cm board and tried for an hour.

Again it took me several runs to get my gybes sorted well enough to not fall in, and only managed one gybe, planing all the way through, but perhaps I lie, my 19 alpha has a min speed of 4kts. and that's the best. The wind just seemed to die every time I came out of a gybe.

Wazza seemed to be enjoying himself even though I saw him going sideways and slowly sinking into the water on a few occasions. It seemed to coincide with the Island wind shadow, so perhaps he was loading the fin up too much in not enough wind.

Island Point with The Capt'n and a decent breeze....last time there was less than a half decent one. Tide was about right and rising and great reaching across the pond with slightly smoother water at each end. A  dozen or so feeding dolphins came to laugh at me in a wind shadow on the northern side and stayed with me until I got planing again, 3 or 4 repeatedly passing under the board in chest deep water while the others patrolled the flanks. I need a GoPro! My technique was, as usual, pretty hopeless, often spinning out after putting  the power down when heading slightly upwind but my arms ( and the rest of me) were so tired and my big toes so cold that I called it a day when the wind started to die.  The Capt'n, as usual, was zooming around at high speed and I would've done better to try to tailgate him...I might have learnt something before he disappeared from sight.!  Good fun day but I'm gonna be a sore boy in a day or so.

WazzaGottaBean!!!! And my favourite flavour too. In case it's a misprint I've done a screen save and I'm also calling a global conference. I forbid any other Mobsters to do a nm for....3 days.

And here I was grumbling how I had to work when the wind looked pretty good on the harbour & the sun was out this morning. Now I see Huey had a higher purpose in mind, congrats on the NM bean Wazza :)

Good to see you had an enjoyable day on the water Mike. I think you appreciate more a bit of sunshine & consistent wind in the middle of winter
