Sherman Island, Rio Vista, CA

PD SL 115 V2, LB 7.8, F-HOT 39 cm

Another fun day sailing at Sherman Island. Started with big gear, PD 128, LB 9.6 and F-HOT 46cm and switched to smaller kit as wind picked up to 18 knots with gusts to 25. It was gusty up and down, not so good for distance or NM.

Got out on my big gear for a bumpy session at Ned's Point. Inconsistant winds provided a challenging afternoon in Buzzard's Bay.
I wasn't going to bother posting, but I didn't want to see Boro's good numbers go without a (weak) back-up... :-)

Kalmus and Egg Island, Cape Cod. Started at 9 am when the wind was close to 30 mph averages. Beach was more crowded than ever before because of a kids beach soccer tournament, but the lovely folks at the recreation department had carved out just enough space to us windsurfers. Too windy for any success on upwind 360s, but I noticed some decent speed on my GPS readout and therefore went over to Egg Island with Nina. Thought I was going really fast on a 96 l FWS board and a 4.7 m wave sail, only to later discover that I had set the GW-52 to show mph instead of knots.

Stopped after 3 hours, but the great wind stopped an hour later, anyway (turned from WSW to SW, which brought a 10 mph drop). Fun day on the water. Did not expect the wind to go that high, and to stay there for 4 hours.. could have been a nice speed session. But easy was probably better since I'm fighting some stupid low-level cold.
